I've been away from Fimfic for quite a while now because I've actually been working hard on the website for a comic my friend has started up and it's sort of eaten all my programming time so I wasn't able to work on Fimfiction in that period, so apologies for lack of any updates and replies. Yesterday we launched the site and, though this isn't Fimfiction related at all, I'd like to make a site post about it to try and get it going. I've not really used site posts to make any personal posts in the past 4 years so I guess one doesn't hurt too much?

You know, you're good in general programming, so, how about you do that more often for a friend (or other people who need your skills in programming and who hire you for that, imagine this, you could earn a boatload of money with this and make yourself a freelancer with it!), that would be a great thing for many people!
Sure, you can't do any programming on FIMFiction.net while you're busy with those jobs, but hey, this is going to work out.
Knowing how creative the brony fandom is and what amazing fan projects it releases, I'm sure there are a lot of excellent potential admins with fantastic programmer skills who would love it to lend you a hoof by taking care of the site while you're gone.

I think it sounds great! There are sure so many places where your programming skills could be needed for a good cause and actually really contribute something and help people out. Don't you agree?

I mean, statistically speaking, FIMFiction.net will be to at least 50% not be FIMFiction.net anymore very soon anyway, with your absolutely ground-breaking and marvelous plans to go general fiction with it and to destroy one of the major achievements the brony fandom has made over the years, with having it's own fandom exclusive fiction site with only MLP: FiM fics on it, so, who cares?

Very soon, there will be Riptiders fanfics here anyway, side to side to MLP: FiM fanfics, so why not already making a bit of advertisement for it in preparation?
I'm sure you're doing the right things for this site and I completely trust you with it to lead FIMFiction.net into a glorious future as the exclusive MLP: FiM fiction site that it is and to improve those aspect of it.
And very soon, the whole brony fandom will carry you on it's hooves for turning our beloved dedicated MLP: FiM fiction site into a melting pot of all sorts of fictional stories the world has to offer and for taking it's exclusivity away from it by creating Fanfiction.net 2.0.

That's strange, I can confirm that it's only on adult pages too. My story, which isn't rated mature, doesn't have it, but all other stories that are mature do. Are you sure your story doesn't have the mature tag on? Maybe it's too mature.

I believe it shows up on every story which has the "sex" tag in addition to every story which is tagged "mature". So any mature story, plus any teen story with the sex tag.

2938360 It's a Teen story, not Mature. I'm not so old and senile as to not know what ratings my own stories have.
Anyway, this is just a case of a particular ad showing up (consistently) at a particularly odd moment, and my readers going "WTF?" at it, so...no further need to discuss this.
2938378 Just because your story is teen doesn't mean the page isn't rated mature. You probably have mature stories in the also like/similar/author sections
2938384 Fair enough. Like I said, I'm not bothered by it if it's just a normal ad, I know the ads are necessary. What threw me off was my readers reacting to it as if it had somehow attached itself to the actual chapter.

2938194 Except that's not true. FimFiction has already been changed because of this scheme, specifically the removal/severe reduction of FiM specific branding and the banners. The blog post about that change explicitly cites the general fiction shared backend ambitions as a major factor in the decision to make it.
