StrikerS and Such (or, why writing block completely sucks)

Hello everyone who's been reading my silly crossover series thus far. You may have noticed that I've recently set the last two chapters of StrikerS to 'unpublished.' There's a reason for this, of course.

    Not Dead.

Hello everyone. I haven't been busy writing because I've had major surgery. Once I get back home from the hospital I'll get back to work. Thank you for your patience.

    New Side Story

I am burnt out on StrikerS. My brain is currently running up against a wall as to what to do with the current chapter, so I'm taking a break from it.

Still Not Dead. Still Not Working

Hi everypony. Sorry for the radio silence and the lack of updates on MPLT StrikerS. I think I'm just burnt out on StrikerS right now, as I'm having trouble actually putting pen to paper. Plus, I've been dealing with stuff in real life which has been kind of sapping my interest in writing. I don't know when I'll be able to finish the next chapter, but you'll know as soon as I post it.

    No, I'm Not Dead

Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated.

I haven't been working on MPLT StrikerS recently. I've been busy with starting a new job and dealing with health issues.
I'll try to start back up as soon as things stabilize.
    Thank you for understanding.

Common Fighting Styles of MPLT Equestria · 4:22am Mar 25th, 2015

Like many societies with some degree of martial activity, ponies have developed codified and formalized fighting styles. Naturally, not every style has survived across the centuries, some rising and falling in favor with the times or being lost along with their teachers to the treacherous tendrils of time. There are, however, a few styles that remain in use by ponies of all stripes in modern-day Equestria and its allied countries.

Equestrian Open-Hoof Karate
A modern hybrid of several individual styles of unarmed combat, Equestrian Karate synthesizes several different disciplines including traditional Pegasus Pankration, Earth Pony hoof-boxing and Neighponese Karate. Open Hoof Karate is primarily a striking style, focusing on stability and powerful blows with both the front and back hooves. This style is taught both to civilians and the Royal Guard as a form of self-defense.

Vita Ngoma
Hailing from Zebrica, Vita Ngoma said to be descended from the ritual challenge dances of the ancient Zebra shamans while they lived in the predator-infested grasslands of their native country. Of course, the modern techniques used by practitioners of this style share only the faintest similarity to the ancient dances they descend from.
There are two 'styles' that compromise Vita Ngoma. The first style, Jogoo Ngoma (lit. 'Rooster Dance') is considered the 'high' style. Jogoo Ngoma is characterized by high, acrobatic leaps, sweeping and spinning strikes, and agile hoof-work. Practitioners tumble, caper and gallop nimbly across the battlefield, circling and striking swiftly. Most practitioners wear feathers in their mane and tail, with more skilled practitioners adding beads and other decorations. Jogoo Ngoma is typically practiced by civilians, and is popular for its showiness.
The other style, Simba Ngoma (lit. 'Lion Dance') is the 'low' style. Practiced primarily by the nomadic Vile Nyase that protect travelers in the veldt, Simba Ngoma focuses on swift, brutal attacks, ground-work and prone-fighting. Practitioners are often marked by their 'spurs,' sharp blades they wear on their hooves that are often coated with various poisons or irritants. Unlike Jogoo Ngoma, Simba Ngoma is specifically designed to kill predators and other ponies.

Kingmaker CQC
Practiced by the eponymous Kingmaker organization, Kingmaker CQC is a pragmatic fighting style with a single objective; quickly incapacitating the opponent and escaping. CQC is designed for all three breeds of pony, and has adaptions to make use of each breed's unique talents (powerful, stunning blows from Earth Ponies, precise telekinesis from Unicorns and wing-strikes with Pegasi). Practitioners are also taught to use both an array of hidden weapons and their environments to quickly take down targets.

Don't forget Krav Maclaw, the Griffon's special forces style.
