RIP Leonard Nimoy · 6:20pm Feb 27th, 2015

As some of you may or may not know, I'm a big Trekkie. I love all six series and average out the movies to great. And of course, one of the biggest loves was and is Spock, the half-human, half-Vulcan science officer played to note-perfection by the incomparable Leonard Nimoy. Unfortunately, time takes its toll on all.

Leonard Nimoy has passed away today. A truly sad day for me and countless others. Mister Nimoy, thank you for the years of hard work and entertainment. We were blessed by your presence.

So... if you're reading this, what was your favorite thing he did, Star Trek or not?

And now he boldly goes where many have gone before him.

I loved so many of his things. His song about Bilbo Baggins, his character on Fringe, he provided an excellent voice for Lord Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts, my favorite Star Wars movie was Star Trek 4... My mother ran into him at an airport when she was young.

The world lost a good man today.

Except for his Bilbo song, I don't really know him outside of Star Trek, but for me that's enough. He was great in it, and I will miss him and the future opportunities that he would present.

The only tribute I can really give him is what we're doing in Star Trek Online right now, which is gathering around the fountain on Vulcan.

Another huge Trekkie here (raised on the TOS movies and TNG); to me, he will first and foremost be Spock.

It's hard to say what my favorite thing about him was...

He was a great voice actor, especially for Galvatron and Xehanort.

His performance as Spock in any of the original episodes is wonderful.

He also directed some of the better Star Trek films.

Nimoy was one of my favorite actors, and he shall be missed.

LLAP

I'd say the best thing he'd done would be Spocks death in Wrath of Khan, he actually managed to inspire Shatner to do a good job opposite him.

Galvatron, because it was one of the first movies I remember seeing. He was the type of voice actor one needs...able to be both good and evil. He wa a class case all the way through.

While I loved Spock, for me he will always be Galvatron. I've rewatched Transformers: the Movie more than any other movie; it's probably my favourite movie of all time. Pretty bummed right now.

Till all are one.

Besides Star Trek, I liked his portrayal as Sentinel Prime. He also voiced himself on two episodes of The Simpsons.

You lived long and prospered, Nimoy. :fluttercry:

Spock was, honestly, a little after my time. I grew up with Data and Worf, on my papa's knee watching TNG and Deep Space Nine as it aired.

What I remember and appreciate him the most for is actually Civilization. He added character and wit to the process of research and technology. Weird that this should be what I remember of Leonard's legacy.

He was a great actor.

I should probably be ashamed to say this, but my favorite thing he did was that weird old show "In Search Of". I loved monsters and ghosts and weirdness as a kid (still do), and boy was that show a lot of fun for me.

Thanks for everything, Mister Nimoy.

I just visited the fountain on Vulcan in STO ... as my Romulan alt because Unification remains one of my favorite Trek episodes of all time. And I'm still crying.

T'was unfortunate when I found out this earlier today.

I was never much of an Old-School Star Trek enthusiast, but my favorite thing Leonard Nimoy has done is J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot, that one scene where his older Spock is talking to Zachary Quinto's younger Spock. It's like he's passing on the role of Spock to Zachary Quinto.

Rest in Peace, Leonard Nimoy. You will be missed. :applecry::fluttercry::pinkiesad2:

Wow, this is a very unexpected and sad thing to hear.

For me, as much as he was fantastic as Spock, as a huge transformers fan I can't help but love his Galvatron from the 1986 Movie.

Long live Spock, and All Hail Galvatron! Rest in peace, Leonard Nimoy, you definitely earned it.

I loved him as the King of Atlantis in Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Galvatron, Sentinel Prime, and Master Xehanort.

I loved his voice acting as Sentinel Prime on Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

It brought back a lot of nostalgic memories when he voiced Galvatron in the animated Transformers movie from the 80's.

Fun fact: In the beginning of the movie DotM, there is a clip of Star Trek on a television set where Spock goes nuts, hinting on the outcome of the movie itself
