I haven't made a list of my favorite episodes but I I personally disagree with some of your list. Mainly number two as I really found that episode to be rather unrealistic when you look at RD's personality. Still it's your list so your tastes are obviously going to be different from mine.
I'm kinda surprised. I would have thought these would have made it on the list, with what you present in your writing.

You wanna talk about loyalty? I have the entire SERIES ranked from favorite to least favorite. (On a random note I just recently found your Space is Waste song and I love it.)
Ahhh, number 8. The episode that completely changed the way I thought about Applejack and how much I could relate to her.
A really solid list there.
Looking at your list, others lists and my own, it is slightly odd how rarely S1 episodes make it to the top ten. That season is what got me here, and I bet its the same with most other bronies. I love the season and I wish I could re-live the feeling of watching it for the first time. Yet, no single episode pops out as one that really shines. Perhaps it has just been to long, or I've seen them too many times, but perhaps the greatest quality of S1 is that those episode seemed to have a synergy (sp?) of sorts. I can't explain the emotion that thinking about all the episodes together invokes.
#3 on that list is Green Isn't Your Color, right?

2834809 It's because it's the pilot season, and what that entails. That's my take on it anyway.
While it had some good episodes, it was still starting out and trying to find itself. That lead to a lot of stumbling and fumbling around. The good in season 1 was made better in other seasons. All the ponies had better episodes in later seasons imo.
... I think I may have to marathon the entire series before season 5 starts now, thanks to you.
