I still dont use fimfic anymore but i thought this was funny lol

If you remember me then you remember https://www.fimfiction.net/user/65660/FlanChan too most likely. When Skype died from the burning cancer of irrelevancy I lost contact with her and didn't know how to find her... and then Twitter Dot Com randomly decided that it would recommend a cosplay of hers to me, so we got to talk again after like 4 years of not even knowing how to contact each other.

    PECK. NECK.

I spent 25 hours on A Hat in Time this past week and I don't regret it. Anyone who ever liked Mario Sunshine or any other Gamecube era platformer should pick this up on Steam/XBOX1/PS4. God this game was so good.

Xenoblade Update 5 - "We're Buying Reyn Pants" · 6:57am Feb 15th, 2015

When can we get Reyn pants? He's full plate armor except for his pants and he has like a loin cloth on. I like to think he wears metal underwear. We need to buy Reyn pants.

Anywho. Galahad Fortress. Of course we left off in the place right before Mechanical Rhythm started playing. Time for battle was getting so old, and Mechanical Rhythm put a smile on my face when I heard it. This game is great. The place wasn't very long, and it was very reminiscent of World of Warcrafts "Naxxramas" with the green glowing puke falls and such. Not bad. While we were there, we shut down some pistons, and at that point, we noticed something about Reyn: he's wearing shorts. We looked at each other and said "We need to buy Reyn pants" because he was literally full plated armor.

About half way through Galahad Fortress, Riki maxed out one of his skill trees, and his last skill was to find more gold chests. Oh boy does that skill WORK. Literally we found like 5 gold chests out of 15 enemies after that, and we had to shift gems and regear because they were too good. We went through a door and then OH MY GOD IT'S FIORA.

sup gurl

I actually like Fiora quite a bit, and it turns out that Fiora is being controlled by Mr. Head Honcho himself, Egil. Egil appears after we beat up Fiora's minions a little bit and he screws up the Monado which is lame. We can't do anything and then Fiora just completely tackles Egil off the damn platform and half of the freaking fortress explodes.

wait what

It was entirely unexpected that one attack would cause such damage, but everyone fell down. Like, waaaaaaay down. To the fallen arm that got cut off in the ancient battle. Then Shulk and Fiora kiss on a beach and wait hold the fucking phone. Did an JRPG... ADVANCE THE LOVE PLOT OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS? WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFF

"srs?" -Mumkhar

Even Mumkhar is surprised by this. I mean, hero of all worlds just made out with his robot girlfriend on a beach alone. Why can't all JRPGs be like this one? Anywho, Fiora joins the party and...she...fights...WITH... US WHAT THE HELL GAME YOU MAKE ME TOO HAPPY. So the next half an hour is getting the party back together after the fall and just... when we do we are introduced to the Machina, which are the good Mechon. Awesome. Time to buy Reyn pants? Nope. Shop does not sell good pants. Godammit. However, the shop does sell Anti-Mechon weapons, which we were excited about. Now that Shulk doesn't have to do Monado Ench-- oh wait his AI does it anyway. Dangit Shulk. May I also mention that when we went out for a monster quest, Fiora fights like a goddess. We always keep Shulk and Reyn in the party, but I now use Fiora and Bobby uses Dunban. So we derped around on the Mechonis arm and we found some... interesting things.

First and foremost, we kept running into this guy that liked digging graves and invited us to join him all the time. His text box would always appear on the screen and we're just like "DUDE NO". What is wrong with that guy.

Second and probably should be foremost: Black Remains. That hit me hard specifically, as Mumkhar is my favorite character. To see Metal Face just sitting there, lifeless, is just... intense. It's literally right there. The once thought final boss is right freaking there. He's inside there, dead as a rock, and I don't even want to open it. No cutscene, no nothing except a Heart-to-Heart I can't view yet, which is justifyable, except I really want to see it. Mumkhar's remains was an amazing addition, and I just freaking shook my head. I actually almost cried, it was so good lol.

After we got Fiora back in our party after her repairs, we headed off to Mechonis Field.

Ehem, "field". More like giant elevator maze with Mechon in it. Now, I love Mechonis Field, but hell if they call THAT a field, then World War II is a game of chess. I love that place a lot though, for it's a very unique place. And as we ascended, we realized that oh my god we're actually on the Mechonis. That was until we got distracted by the enemy names. Whoever made the names for the enemies must have had the best day of their life

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:

M88/WORST

M53/THANK

and the best one, M44/ANGRY

Beautiful. I kept telling Bobby to go easy on M88/WORST because, well, the title explains it. He's not that good. Anywho, we reached the top of Mechonis Field and fought a Face named Jade Face that turned out to be Sharla's boyfriend, Gadolt. I think that this was a great move on their part to make Gadolt a face, but one without remorse or feeling, unlike Mumkhar. Erase the memories, because Mumkhar's vengeance got him killed. Gadolt has an interesting fight the first time around. You play cover and defeat enemies behind barriers to not get one shotted by Gadolt's attacks, and when you get to him, of course, he doesn't remember Sharla in the slightest, and neither do we, because it's Sharla. We like her character but... she's kinda unmemorable, and we never even need to use her. But I digress. Gadolt's fight was great.

So we nearly blow up and head into the Central Factory, which may I add is super badass. The capital, Agniritha, is not too far away, and that's where Egil is, and now I'm pumped. So going through the whole place we pressed a button and Mass-Produced Faces are hanging from doors we unlocked.

Uhhh. Oops? So I told Bobby to go kill them because it was his play-shift, and he liked Xord a lot. We killed two and started to kill the last one until You Will Know Our Names started playing and we shit outselves because he was level 65 (Rare) and we were 61 (Screwed). I told Bobby to fight it anyway. Freaking four minutes of reviving, torture, strategic influence, and luck, we eventually killed the rare Xord clone, and our hearts were beating SO BADLY after that. Holy crap. Screw you Xord clone for four minutes of torture. Literally the most intense fight we've had so far.

After that devilishly destructive fight, we got past a mini boss with the demented circus boss music

DA DA DA DA DA DADADA DA DA DA DA DADADA DADADA

Ehem. We like that music. We got past everything in the factory, every freaking rare monster (there were like 20 of them), and we got to Agniritha, which is full of stoned Telethia and abandoned. Uh.... okay! Yeah! Time to buy Reyn pants, right? Wrong! The store terminal sucks! No pants for Reyn. Anyways, we learn some backstory.

Fiora is inhabited by the leader and soul of the Mechonis, Lady Meyneth. And she was the one who fought Zanza, the Bionis, and they were both injured. Zanza was imprisoned because he was a dickmunch and now we released him.

We're screwed. Anywho, we got about 5000 quests to do there in Agniritha, and that's where we left off. We stopped there, because it was 12:00 and we made too much progress. You Bronados out there are probably wondering why we haven't been talking about a certain character. Well I am now.

I would like to talk about Dickson

What the hell is this guy hiding? This guy knows way too much, goes everywhere without breaking a sweat, is skilled at everything, and knows freaking Miqol, chief of the Machina. What is UP with this guy? Alvis is suspicious too, but Dickson always seems to be one step ahead. I'm genuinely worried that he's the main villain. Really. No joke. I think this guy is a prime suspect for big villain. He may not be a Mechon, but he could be like doing behind the scenes crap, prepping for something. I don't trust him. Dickson is just... strange. That's my opinion. He's strange. Too strange.

Stay tuned when we try to take down Egil!

Reyn.

Get some pants.

Oh, I know what Dickson's hiding! But you have to play through the game to find out! Or look at the game's TV Tropes page like I did, but don't do that. It ruins the game.

2798358 Freaking Dickson man. He's too badass not to be a bad guy

Okay.

Here's the deal.

I've been waiting for you to get Fiora All. This Time. USE HER. KEEP USING HER. She fights like Wolverine on speed. Get her speed and agility up like crazy. Upgrade her gear (there are three outfit sets that cosplay her as KOS-MOS, T-Elos and, uh, a pink KOS-MOS, all of which you should look out for. I forget their names, but they turn her into a boss in a chosen field; physical powerhouse, full-magic, etc. I gave her the physical one.). You will be shocked at how much of a DPS she is.

And it was great to see the romance actually go somewhere, yes. I loved how it played out. But oh my gosh keep an eye on Melia now that Fiora's in the picture. The way the triangle is handled is fantastic but I cried for our princess the whole time ;_;.

I agree with you that Sharla is completely unmemorable, even with her love plot being resolved just before Agnirathia. I loved her gimmick as a healing sniper, but really, that's as far as she goes. :fluttershysad: Least development of the entire cast, and in a cast that includes Reyn, BOY IS THAT SAYING SOMETHING.

Finally there is nothing up with Dickson at all and I am shocked and appalled that you would ever suspect him of any sort of wrongdoing. He's been a fine upstanding citizen through and through!

Eeeeeee. Got me a Shulk amiibo and I'm buying a New 3DS just for XC3D (and Monster Hunter). Shit's gonna be great.

DA DA DA DA DA DA DADADA DA DA DA DA DADADA DADADA

yeee

What the hell is this guy hiding?

not tellin u

2798394

and in a cast that includes Reyn, BOY IS THAT SAYING SOMETHING.

I actually think that Reyn has been improving the most next to Shulk and Melia. He's turned into kinda the third wheel, but not like a bad third wheel. Kinda like a third wheel on a tricycle. And he acknowledges it completely, and Sharla surprisingly is the one to snap him out of it. Thank god he's the best tank in video game history.

Plus what would we do without Sword Drive

2798901

Oh, totally. I'm not disparaging Reyn at all; he's actually one of those characters that didn't really need all that much development outside of what he initially got, so anything past that was always a bonus. And man, dat tankage.

We would die, as a civilization, without Sword Drive. We really would. (Then again, I didn't often have him in my party late-game. I should try it.)

2799131 We have Buster almost up to 2nd to last upgrade and Sword drive 2nd upgrade max did more than buster crit non crit.

We use him as a tank

...Those mechons are the ones you say are best?

You didn't even mention the mechon with tentacle like arms in a JRPG that is named M76/MOIST.
