Pinkie Pie's Hero · 11:06pm
Well, new fic is out, and it has a name! It's apparently a habit of mine to make a post when I put up a new fic. I figure that I'll just use this to give a bit more info on it. If you're on the fence or curious, read on! If you're already resolved to read it - or to not read it - I guess this either slightly spoiler-y or useless.
Pinkie Pie's Hero was written by suggestion of Kits. I asked him what to do - in the "oh sweet Celestia, I need a break from this/what should I do/is there anything you'd like to see written/bored" kind of way, and he had a concept that he'd been trying to convince somepony to write for a while: Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie dress up as Daring Do/Mare Do Well and hit town doing all kinds of crazy stuff."
Three days of writing and two weeks of editing, pestering others and spellchecking later, here we are! I'm not sure if my take on this prompt is what was expected. I don't know. It's just in my nature to infuse anything I write with minor drama and more-than-minor romance, but at the same time, I wanted to make it fun.
I'm not half as good as fun as I wish I were. It seems my inclinations lie in the realm of drama, but at the same time, I'm very pleased with my older Rainbow Dash's Best Plan Ever. As such, I tried to recapture some of that fun - if the fic was already going to be PinkieDash anyway, I might as well play to one of the strengths of that ship.
So, yeah. I need to go lie down, because publishing a fic is apparently still mentally exhausting. Every time I press the submit button to FimF and EqD, my heartrate peaks. I need to locate the nearest sugar deposit and roll around in it, then have a nap. After that, it's back to my other, longer project.

Do be sure to clean the sugar deposit when you're done with it. Other people have to use it too.
Will read immediately.
You're our hero, Cloudy. Keep it up.
All of my
, sir. That is the single most promising synopsis I've seen in weeks. I'll read it tomorrow, if time permits.
>>210465 Get your own! :(
>>210485 Thank you very much! Taking the night off to celebrate (read: be a wreck) before it's right back to writing. Had at least one new fic idea while waiting for this one to get approved.
>>210626 Oh sweet, and thank you!
Daring Do/Mare Do Well cosplay?! Oh hell yes!
All I need now is for Kits to do the clop version and my life will be complete.
>>210809 He was (and probably still will be) badgering me to make this clop, but I got trapped in some logic I don't quite understand myself. I still intend to explore some more adult themes again after I finish the longfic, either as a pre-WEMS3 thing, or after it, probably!
>>210817 Patience is a virtue, they say. All good things come to those who wait, they say...
It's going to get to the point where I'm gonna write it, and that's not going to end well for anyone. No sir! No one indeed.
>>210821 Well, I, ah. I won't say I wouldn't read it, nor will I say I don't like the idea of it. *Cough*
No seriously though, go for it! You, Kits, somepony! I am very unlikely to do it, because if I want to write PinkieDash clop that isn't tied to WEMS, I already have a 2-4k (can't remember) snippet involving food and a kitchen and very naughty things. Hell, I have two food-related snippets that I haven't found a use for. I've half a mind to make a separate story for these dribble-drabble-whatchamacallits.
>>210827 The last time I tried to write shipping... well... Yeah. I leave shipping to the big boys, haha. I'll stick to my epic fantasy, I think.
Cloudy, every time you mention 'a little snippet', I try to work out a way to set you up with a permanent income so you can write full time, you know that right? Good lord. You're such a tease with your ideas! D:
Sounds zany. While I might prefer this subject as more of a "friendshippy/underlying sexual tension/witty innuendo", rather than straight shipping kind of the way this kind of thing is handled in the comic books, I think I'll still read this.
>>210834 Oh dear. Negative shipping affinity? I'm curious and a little scared now. Then again, I'm trying to imagine what'll happen if I stick my snout outside my own comfort zone. Comedy? Terrible tryhard fail. Dark or anything worse? I don't even want to know.
And, hey, if you know a way for a hobby writer to monetize, hit me, haha. I already spend the majority of my spare time on this stuff, but I go back to work next week.
Seriously though, next time I feel like publishing some PinkieDash, I may look into those snippets, sorry for mentioning it though - I doubt it'd be very impressive anyway, it's just a February-style fic with another mutual declaration, and one that assumes they're an item where they just bounce, talk, bake, and then hotness and cuteness, nothing big. It's un-edited and not very elegant.
>>211459 Well, thank you anyway - hope it's to your tastes! It's certainly got its share of some'a those at least!
>>211611
Oh I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I don't hate shipping. I actually like it quite a bit, but, like being on a diet, I try to avoid junkfood. My head is already too full of ****. And these ponies make a playground of my emotions enough already.
It also doesn't hurt that you write really awesome stories.
>>211611 OCs! OCs everywhere! D: It was awful. Just, just terrible. In my defence, I was young, and I couldn't write to save myself.
And honestly, they could have no plot whatsoever and I wouldn't care. Some writers I love because their prose is just so darn entertaining to read. Good plot/execution after that point is just a welcome bonus. You are one of those authors, haha. Heck, even if you don't ever publish them, you could always hit me with a link to a gdoc or something so I can read 'em!
It might just make my year. Haha.
