    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

Blueblood and Sweetie: Best (adoptive) Siblings. · 2:24am Jan 20th, 2015

Celebrating that they're to meet again... in a chapter written in the past, published then and now looped back to IRL with additional material and such...

“My poor little sister... puberty hit her like a ton of rocks, you see,” he explained, earning a glare from both mares. “That is: what I meant to say,” he amended himself, waving a hoof to placate the female ire, “is that she’s had to walk down a rocky road... er, she took her time as a filly for granite? Metamorphically speaking, she’s been under a lot of pressure, you know... and she hit rock bottom before she came here, so I told her schist happens and fortune favors the boulder...”

“Blueblood,” Sweetie hissed. “Please. Stop.”

What are your favorite quotes or moments for the duo?

Having not read the fic I will say that the concept is odd and that you shouldn't listen to me because I do not have an informed opinion.

i just finished that chapter of TPC last night
ha!
as for favorite qoutes?
i'm.... not to good at picking favorites, or remembering specific lines
i would make a terrible actor....
scenes i can do, however, and the whole Vinyl hitting on Sweetie scene was hilarious

Everything. That was probably the best arc in TSC thus far.

It nearly made me cry at the end.:pinkiesad2:

It's hard to really pick a moment without going back and reading the whole thing again, but it was definitely my favorite arc in TSBC.
Probably a favorite moment was when Blueblood took her drinking.

I miss TPC, the Cap is having too much fun with his Xcom - Mass Effect crossover; As good as that is, it's very lacking in ponies.

2734556 Pretty much this; so far, TBNE is the part of the Sweetie Chronicles you truly shine, Mr. Wanderer! Their interactions and banter in general just work, and I love it! Thanks for writing this!

Oh my gosh, that paragraph... It does puns of damage...

My favorite moment is most likely when Blueblood talks to Sweetie about what an adult sleepover is, everything from the recounting of Twilight's first sleepover to Scootaloo's 'If Rainbow Dash is doing it then I want to be doing it too'.

That whole bit, just freaking gold.

Best Arc in TSC... I loved TBNE.

I mean it even started well...

“Wait...! Does that mean I’m going to go insane, too?! Will I start burning down Ponyville and laughing while I levitate in the results of a bloodspell I’ve invoked to become goddess of this universe?”

“Maybe,” Blueblood admitted. “I’d plan around it.”

---

Then there was:

“Okay, Sweetie Belle...” Blueblood smiled. “Here she comes. Remember, just like I taught you.”

“Right,” Sweetie nodded and took a deep breath, before smiling at Pinkie Pie as she trotted up to their table. “Hallo, ich hätte gerne einen Milchshake, zwei Kürbisecken und eine Birne.”

Pinkie gasped in delight, leaning in closer over the table. “Aber gerne! Was für eine Füllung hättest du gerne für deine Kürbisecken? Wir haben die traditionelle Kürbisfüllung oder die örtliche Spezialität, eine Apfelfüllung.”

“Go on, go on!” Blueblood whispered. “Don’t act surprised, either!”

“Ich, ähm... d-die Traditionelle klingt gut,” Sweetie stammered. “Oh... ich wusste nicht, dass du Germane sprichst Pinkie.”

“Tue ich auch nicht!” Pinkie Pie said, grinning. “Aber ich liebe deinen Akzent! Ich bin gleich zurück mit deiner Bestellung.” She stopped and looked at Blueblood. “Oh, ich Dummerchen! Ich hab ganz vergessen deine Bestellung aufzunehmen! Was hättest du gerne?”

That whole thing that goes on and on -- I used google translate so many times...

---

"Do not listen to this naughty, naughty pony!" Pinkie said to Sweetie Belle, pointing down at the stallion underhoof. "Just because some ponies have a sleepover with magic and ropes and shouting and riding crops and safety words and a tub full of jelly, doesn't mean anything naughty has to happen."

“But probably will,” Blueblood argued.

---

Sweetie Belle glared at Blueblood. The big, stupid, smug jerk. “I’m not talking to you about sleepovers ever - ever - again.”

----

“Crazy? Insane? Bonkers? Two pegasi short of a weather team?” Sweetie offered.

----

“One such as me?” Blueblood asked, taking a long look at the smokey pony. “Oh, yes... I sometimes forget, you’re the first-loop Gala ponies. Well, I wouldn’t want my little sister hanging out with me either. I’m a terrible influence.”

Sweetie Belle nodded emphatically at that.

----

“Why, thick... dense... technical books, strained to bursting with repressed... knowledge... That’s right. I bet I know just the kind of book you like, Twilie,” Blueblood said, reaching up to pull the ghostly fragment down into a conspiratorial huddle. “Leather bound tomes with iron spines, the type you need to open with a key... read by the light of a thick, flickering beeswax candle... tell me that doesn’t sound good?”

---

“You recognize me...?” he asked, tentatively, as if a little afraid to hear her answer. “Do you recognize me, Sweetie?”

Sweetie galloped past her gobsmacked sister and hugged Blueblood. “Of course I do! I could n-never forget my big b-brother!” she stammered, tears forming in her eyes. “At least... for one more day.”

“One more day,” he said it, not as a question, but as if it were a death sentence. Then his features hardened and he nodded, royal composure back in place. “One more day it is, then. It’ll be a good day.”

"The Best Night Ever" arc was, in my opinion, THE most memorable arc in this entire fic thus far. I just loved what you did with SB being ADOPTIVE siblings with Blueblood, despite him being one of the fandom's most hated characters. In truth, that arc gave me a good view of what he can be when he isn't a pussy assed, arrogant little prick. It was also sad that SB had to say goodbye to poor ol' Blueblood in that last scene, and in the end of that arc, when Blueblood wanted to see Sweetie one last time and she couldn't remember him, that kind of put me in the feels, other that speech SB made. Man, that was a good story, like I don't even care about the other story arcs now, I just want to read this arc all over again. Though, I would love to see Sweetie Belle go back to see Blueblood again in "This Platinum Crown" some time later in the future.

I will admit, it can get weird, yes, but it's worth it, especially when Sweetie "jumps" into The Best Night Ever, it's long, but worth it. Just thought I'd chip in my two cents. Or bits, your pick

Woah why did my comment get so many dislikes? I simply meant that at face value, the concept of Blueblood and Sweetie Belle being adopted siblings was odd.

It was my favorite arc of the story, even if it was really long. Both characters had evolved a lot from their canon counterparts, and have evolved even more since then. I cannot wait for their upcoming reunion.

PC

2734683 Mine too! I have that bit saved on my tablet for when I need a good laugh! :pinkiehappy:

2734690 :rainbowlaugh: You got some of the best quotes!

I...don't think that there's anything I can add to this thread that hasn't been said. This really was one of the best arcs, followed by/tied with Backwards through the Mirror :yay:.

The dynamic was amazing and hilarious, and the relationship that formed between them is so strong that Sweetie constantly thinks back to that relationship throughout her other journeys. She uses his gift the most (aside from the notebook), and her time with him is what earned her a cutie mark. (I have to admit, I didn't see the mark as a music note smashing through Twilight's mark until Sweetie pointed it out in a later arc. All I could think of was it being the perfect match for her-music & magic.) This arc and the BttM arc also had the most emotional substance, the deepest characters, and awesome plot lines.

I have one question; Wasn't there some sort of song parody that was created based on this arc? I thought I saw it the first time through, but couldn't find it again later.

Anyway, I think I've rambled enough. Keep up the good work!
