Rainbow Rocks Review (no spoilers) · 6:03am Dec 20th, 2014
Yeah that pretty much sums it up.
Did I like it?
Eh..... I give it an "ok." There's a lot of things in it that left a bad taste in my mouth and had me tilting my head in confusion. Not to mention some very poor choices on handling some scenes.
There wasn't much middle ground for me. I either loved a scene and was falling out of my seat with anticipation and squirting 'liquid pride' everywhere.... or I was left so bored I literally looked away from the screen to clean my magnificent manly man nails, wondering "is it over yet? I'd like to see what happens instead of all this faffing about."
The music does deserve commendation, though.
Was it better than the first EQG?
Actually... there really isn't a right answer for this. EQG:RR's music was almost entirely a different genre from anything in its predecessor. So they can't really be compared, but they're each awesome in their own ways.
I'll stop myself here before I get too in-depth, I wanna keep this blog short.
It is worth your time watching though, see what y'all think of it.
For all you Netflix users, you can find it there.
So it's like most of your stories: "Nothing special."
...
But seriously, GET BACK TO WORK, PLEEEEEEASE!!!
I was disappointed too... The movie totally needed much more work.
So in other words...

2665653 Pretty much... Maaaaybe.
Am I the only one who went in to watch it with the understanding that it won't be great cinema?
Let's just say that Rainbow Rocks was a definite step up from the first movie.

I went into it neutral actually, possibly even little excited cause I was surprised to see it on Netflix. Was thinking I'd need to rent it.

Main this is the move made me like Sunset even more
This opinion was precisely why I followed you. I'm so bored of bronies gushing over EQG:RR like it was the best thing since sliced bread. ALL because it was slotted in so nicely between season 4 and 5 when none of us had much to talk about.
It was so thoroughly average. I'll even go so far to say the original was too. Then again. I'm one of the minority in that department. Heck, I honestly cant stand the premise. Its like they decided High School Musical just wasn't cliche enough.
But I'm just ranting

Hah, if only you could ask my friends about the rants I get into on Skype. This was the condensed, kid-friendly review. I'm wondering when everybody else will realize the golden gleam of the movie's brilliance before them was really just the light reflecting off a stream of piss.
I may be a brony, but I won't defend something for being so... shabby
2704296 Love the analogy. Sadly I believe we exist in a fandom where Hasbro is the Vatican and its followers seem to prosper on the tiny scraps of effort it casts them.
I like to consider myself a Brony in the pure sense. I like MLP. I like Ponies. I draw the line before poorly written spinoffs.

Precisely. Too many of peoples' standards are shockingly low. Nobody seems to care if anything's good, just that "holy shit you have to see this it's NEW!" That seems to be the attitude with, well, everything nowadays. Look at all the reboots/revamps/re-whatevers of movies, shows and games in the last 5 years
