Razorbeam the Runecrafter · 10:16am

Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't read chapter 11 of Visionary.
For those of you who wanted to see what this humble author believes the rune looks like, this is it. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I'm a little out of practice with Photoshop though; this took way too long to make!
Anyways, you can clearly see the six blades and diamonds that were mentioned, as well as the shield. Plus, a few bonus runic symbols for spice. Hope you enjoy it!
Regards,
Razorbeam.

Oh snap, looks so bloody awesome! Nice work
That's what I was looking for, very nice.
Even better than what I imagined.
Cheers to well-made art!
Simply marvelous!
Tell me, does it come in blood red?
>>195074
It can, but changeling green is in this month.
That looks so many kinds of awesome.
drools all over my laptop...... dang it!!!
could i use this pic as a cover for one of my stories

Be my guest! I'm flattered you would.
The baddassery is strong with this one. By any chance would you mind randomly explaining how Runes work? Chrysalis' explanation went over my head for some reason.....
>>195216
AWWWWwWWWW
YEEEAAHHHHH
>>195223
In simple terms, the changeling pushes the energy out of his body, and uses a spell to hold the energy in place. Since it's no longer in his body, it doesn't explode as wild magic.
The rune then behaves like an extension of the body. The changeling can push energy into it, or pull it out as needed, the same way they move the magic around inside themselves. The rune's size is dependent on how much energy it is containing, and unless its caster leave the circle of its influence or completely absorbs the energy in the rune, it can't be destroyed.
If you have more questions about it, please feel free to ask them. I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Lol. Big McLargeHuge rules.
YEEEEAH!
Hot damn, that's potent.
>>195229
You planning to have Aurus learn combat applications for the rune or is it forever to remain as a way to alleviate the burdens that come with too much emotions for the Changeling monarch? Are there any? You said the changeling that casts the rune can manipulate the magic inside, can they manipulate it offensively? I'm imagining him laying down a huge one and using it as, like, a magical artillery, or maybe some kind of erupting ground attack. But then again, is that even feasible when he has to stay in one place to do it? Or perhaps he gets so overcharged upon revealing himself, he has enough excess magic to cover a whole area, literally giving him a homefield advantage so to speak.
Sorry, I think I'm starting to think of Changeling Monarchs as Guardians from GW2, haha. Thanks for the explanation!

The only way to know will be to read ahead! But, a quick tidbit, the magic in the rune is like any other magical energy. As long as Aurus can channel it, he can do whatever he wants with it; including offense.
Thanks for asking, and for reading!
>>195269
Yup, I now have this image of him dropping like, a several hundred foot diameter rune somehow and being like, "S'up?" to his opponent. Keep up the good work!
Damn that is awesome
>>195367
THEN I WOULD TYPE IN ALL CAPS, AS A GOD MIGHT DO! Because frankly that would be pretty cool.
>>195414 Lol xD Agreed, it would be xD
Holy. Buck.
That is far awesomer (Yes, it's a word.) than I had imagined. Kudos to you, good sir. And keep writing. For the love of Cestia, keep writing.
>>195599
And what if I don't?
>>195612
Then you would have to either die, or be tortured to the point of being forced into producing inferior quality writing, tortured some more because it wasn't your usual quality, then released afterwards, and I would get sent either to an asylum or prison.

I would prefer the torture route, because then you could still write afterwards, and I could test some new...toys...of mine. It would be fun!
>>195628
Hypothetical question.
>>195631
But those aren't any fun! Edit:
Do you see what you did to Fluttershy? Well, do you?!
>>195644
No tears means I'm in the safe zone!
Score one for Razorbeam!

Refer to previous comment.
Now, as you were saying?
>>195670
Oh come on!
>>195687
Problem? I have to sharpen my "skills" somewhere, and your blog post was the nearest place.
>>195697
If I were a less generous sensei, I would simply delete your 'training' posts.

It's like Tabasco, but spicier. Almost as spicy as a Cloudsdale rainbow.
>>195759
Ugh, pass. The last rainbow I ate shot right through me.
Quick question about runes,
If the rune were to be cast on a cylindrical object, would it overlap and have an infinite containment amount, or just stop once it makes contact with itself?
If it does overlap, is he able to cast the rune on his own body, making himself into an infinite containment unit for magic?
it's So AWESOME! i knew i wasn't pictureing it right
i'm so glad u drew it ^_^
>>196530
Rune can't take up more space than is available to it. If it would overlap, it would have to stop.
Another quick question. If Aurus were to make a rune, but then was blown away out of the area of effect (exited the circle forcibly) would the rune disappear? Cause then he wouldn't be able to access his energy if he wasn't on top of it...am I correct in that? So all the enemy has to do is knock him away with a gust of wind and then he can't do much with the rune.
Also, Can an incoming spell be channeled into a rune?
>>200503
If he ever leaves the rune for any reason, yes; it dissolves.
And unless he can absorb the magic himself, he has no way of putting it into the rune. So no, incoming magic can't be channeled into it.
