Let's take a trip in the wayback machine. Way, way back, to... a month and a half ago.

My cohort, friend, and morale officer, xSpartanLazerx, was trying his hand at writing a fic of his own. His first idea - now abandoned, sadly - was a Kingdom Hearts crossover featuring Sora's great-great-grand-unrelated-person, Rend Spire. Being unconnected to the main KH story in any way let this fic actually be original. I know, right? Le gasp.

The basic plot was that, at the beginning, the Heartless bugger up Equestria something fierce. 3 of the Mane 6 get out in time via an emergency Twiliport, landing in a lightning-aligned world called Fragor (my name, hee) and recruiting the services of a local keyblade wielder (IE Rend) to unbugger it. Thing is, Equestria is an interplanetary 5K marathon away from Fragor, so the four have to world-hop through several familiar settings, including such exotic locales as "Teufort" and [insert clever video game location reference here].

Eventually, they get to Equestria's airspace, which necessitates trekking across the remains of the sun and moon before reaching Equestria proper. And true to the prologue, all three are buggered beyond belief. The potential aesthetic effects of that buggering were outlined by me, in what I saw as a clever writing exercise. It made Spartan's day.

I hope you, my four or five blog-reading watchers, will at least enjoy this, the artifactual byproduct of an aborted work of fiction - a project fossil, to coin a term. With that in mind, the subject matter becomes eerily apropos.

You can find the doc here.

    Tagged to read later.

Abandoned concepts are always sad, but less sad than abandoned stories. Gawd there are 3 stories right now I would be ecstatic if they were picked up again.
