    Let's have a little chat.

I'm honestly not sure how to put this into words since it's such a complicated feeling but I guess I'll give it a shot.

haha it's a good thing i didn't make this post the day i meant to

Boy would I have looked the fool. A couple weeks ago I intended to make a big ol' post highlighting some realizations I'd come to after doing some writing—yes writing, you read that correctly. Here, look:

Reckon it's about time for a status update.

No, I'm not dead. No, Outlaw's not dead either and no, the last blog post was not serious. It was an April Fool's joke.

    I'm done.

I'm sure most of y'all have noticed how slow updates have been going and the truth is, the spark just isn't there anymore. I know I've always told everyone that no matter what I'd see Outlaw through to the end a second time, but my interest has waned significantly. I haven't watched an episode of the show since the S4 finale. My ego also sustained

This one's been in the pipeline for a while. The road there's been a little bumpy, but I'm damn happy with what I found at my destination. From my good friend (we don't talk much, but I'd still like to consider him one), OmegaRidley.

As far as story goes--we're getting there. Some of you may be discouraged by this point, you probably think I'm losing steam. Quite the opposite. I've merely been away from my computer for long stretches of time to care for my mother post-neck surgery. Not a day goes by that thoughts of how to better the story aren't constantly swarming through my head.

In case you weren't aware of how serious I'm taking this, from this point on these chapters are being rewritten in their entirety. That's right, in addition to changing many key events early story, I'm rebuilding chapters 6-20 from the ground up. I'm not adding/removing/editing the old chapters, instead I'm using them as a framework for the rewrite. This both speeds things along because I don't have to worry about juggling/removing/editing old bits of narrative to squeeze the new stuff in, and it gives us a much more consistent end product.

Next chapter's roughly halfway complete. We'll be there soon, guys, and hopefully (but no promises) by the end of the month. I do apologize for the long wait, and I hope you'll be patient with me as I work to get these spiffy new chapters out for you.

Sorry but how do "rewritten in their entirety" and "building chapters 6-20 from the ground up" equal "not adding/removing/editing the old chapters"? It's pretty obvious, at least by your use of words, that substantial changes are being made so what the heck are you doing exactly?

What I did with chapter 1-6 was add additional content into the existing chapters, fix egregious mistakes and trim things as I saw fit. This was slowing me down exponentially. What I'm doing now is using my knowledge of the chapters and their events and completely rewriting them from scratch. This offers a much more consistent end product, it's easier to integrate the changes in early plot elements that I want to make, and I am able to work at a quicker pace than when I was carefully combing through the chapters and tweaking things.

How is that not adding, removing, or editing the old chapters? By doing a rewrite, you are by definition editing the chapter and adding/removing is the effective result in the sense that you remove the way it was and add the rewrite.

If you want to be a stickler about it, that's fine by me. But there is a very clear difference between touching something up and completely writing it anew.

Like's like a brilliant plan to me! Get back in there and whoop them writings out! You can do it, I know you can. Yeah, yeah, woo! *Cute pony dancing goes here*
