So... Here's the long and short of my situation.
I'm hungry. And I have no money.
A particular establishment (I'm not going to name names, but I will say that their name rhymes with "small fart") has left me completely in the dark about my job application for over an entire month. And an entire month with no income has left me without so much as a penny to my name. While I'm still looking into applying to other jobs, I'm afraid that I have to come here, to my precious fellow adventurers, to ask for your help. I'm going to try a new way of making income: commissioned fanfiction.
So, these are the terms I'll be setting, and I hope that you all would consider purchasing one.
I'll be charging 10 dollars (USD) for every thousand words in the commissions, with a maximum of 6,000 words for a single commission. (This is not, however, a restriction on story length. Simply length per commission. I would have no problem continuing a story over multiple commissions.)
1-1000 words: $10.
1001-2000 words: $20
2001-3000 words: $30
3001-4000 words: $40
4001-5000 words: $50
5001-6000 words: $60
(All commissions will be rounded to the nearest 1000 words for simplicity's sake. If you would like to request a more specific length, I'll be happy to talk it over personally.)
Now, I understand that I tend to be very long-winded, so the length will be requested and paid for by the customer, and any overflow from the requested length will be considered personal work, rather than commission, and will not be charged to the receiving party.
I am afraid that I'll be asking for payment up front, mostly due to urgent warnings I've received from other commissioned artists I've been talking to about this plan. I'll be taking payment via Paypal.
Upon completion of the requested work, the customer will be sent a document of their commission to do with it what they will. Upon completion, they will have all rights to the work. (Though I would ask that, if re-posted on a fanfiction site, that they would kindly give credit to me as the original author. And yes, they will have my permission to post it to other sites under that condition.)
Right now, just as a trial to see if this is something I'll be comfortable doing, I'll be opening up three commission slots.

I have approximate knowledge of many things, after all.
