Rainbow Rocks Review (In gifs!) · 10:55pm Nov 2nd, 2014
Everyone inadvertently picks on Sunset Shimmer:
The Sirens appear on the scene!
"We'd better ask Twilight about this..."
"But the portal isn't open! It hasn't been thirty moons!" (I was really worried they'd skim over this important point.)
I know how I can get through!"
"FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!!!" *fails*
*"Under Our Spell" plays*
*The mane six don't realize they're being manipulated into fighting*
*Rainbow Dash almost ruins everything*
*The Dazzlings make sure they move on.*
*Trixie traps the Mane... 7... under the stage! With a trap door!*
*"Welcome to the Show" begins to play*
*Vinyl appears to save them!*
"How are we supposed to play over them from up here?"
*Vinyl's car transforms*
*Fluttershy wrote a song that starts with "I got the music in me!"*
"So, the Rainbooms want to make this a REAL battle of the bands? Then let's battle."
Twilight: *High note*
Adagio: *Higher note*
"Sunset Shimmer, we need you!"
(Actually, everyone saw this from a mile away, but I already used "Dis gon be gud")
*Sunset picks up mic*
*Sunset starts singing*
*Suddenly, there's a giant rainbow alicorn in the sky, rather than our heroes being the ones to do the fighting of the bad guys.*
*The sirens lose their singing voices*
In case you guys hadn't noticed, I LOVED the sirens in this movie! Especially Adagio!!! (Thus why I put off my nanowrimo novel for a short oneshot about her.)
My score for the movie?
An Adagio Dazzle out of ten.
Actually, the alicorn in the sky was the manifestation of their combined magic. Mane6 + Sunset Shimmer = Magic so powerful it creates a GOD!
2570398 I know, but it just visually separated the magic from the protagonists. It just felt impersonal for me. I couldn't get behind a giant sky god the same way I could get behind 6 friends fighting together in the first movie.
