Yesterday, when a cashier wished me a happy Halloween, I suddenly realized something important. If I, a devout Christian, were to get in a huff about it (which I wouldn't be likely to do, given my disposition toward the holiday, unlike some other people I could name), I would be no less annoying than people who, at Christmas time, proclaim loudly that they should instead be wished a happy holiday. I checked my privilege, returned the cashier's wishes, and went on my way.
