A Few Things (Warning: Angry post, apologies in advance) · 5:37am Oct 29th, 2014
1.) This past month has been somewhat busy, and I've been completely lacking in inspiration lately. I'm dealing with a big amount of writer's block, so bear with me. It's my own damn fault, I'm doing too many ongoing stories at once...
2.) I'm having a bit of a nervous breakdown right now due to some stress/family related issues. They're rather petty issues, and I'm a little ashamed that I'm letting them get to me, so again, bear with me here...
3.) If I comment on someone else's story, DO NOT post a response asking me when I'm going to get the next chapter of a story I'm writing done. All it does is piss me off, as the comment was unrelated to the story that I was reading, and it diminishes the work of the author that wrote the story by making them seem less important than some random commenter. STOP IT. I FUCKING HATE THAT.
4.) The next chapter of whichever story you're hoping for will get done when it gets done, and no sooner. I'm sorry I'm not the most prolific writer in the world but all MOAR comments do is annoy me and inspire me to write angry blogs. I am desperately trying to keep my temper under control here. I haven't succeeded totally, as you can see, but I am in some form of control, as I could have been much ruder. I wanted to be.
...wow, people actually do this? I've seen you all over the place, and as much as I want another chapter of Waking Nightmares, I understand 2 things.
1. Real life is a thing
2. Don't spam comment sections with chat about an unrelated story.
People need to get some common decency....
2561880 #3 actually only happened to me once, just recently... But it bothered me to this point and everything else that happened today (the aforementioned petty shit I mentioned before)... the emotional explosion could have been worse, let's say.
I suffer block too.
Numbers 3 and 4 really annoy me when I see them too, and I've never even had to be on the receiving end of them. I guess it just seems rude to me.
People seem to have it in their heads that if they don’t constantly tell a writer how awesome their story is and bagger them on how much they want an update, they’ll lose interest in writing it and the story will peter to a crawl and die. I've seen both sides of it honestly, where stories are just never updated again without a word given and I've also seen writers actually use it as a form of attention seeking where they keep saying they’re going to quit and cancel all their stories so they can scroll through a few pages of ‘NOOOOO!!!!Why you do this?!!!!’ grovelling, and because of this kind of crap, a lot of people seem to get in the habit of doing it automatically.
It's why I personally like progress blogs, but those always come with the risk of inviting even more bullshit because arbitrary deadlines would still be hard enough to stick too even if 'real life' wasn't a thing. Its a case of dammed if you do dammed if you don't.
Just remember thought, from a glance at the numbers, it looks like you have about 800 more people following the story then following blog posts so if a few 'MORE' comments slip through the net it could be because of that.
Can we ask about story updates on the story that relates to said updates?
Number four ain't gonna stop, son. Ever. You know it won't. Getting mad about it won't help you with anything. Plenty of people who have whatever story followed will never read this, and will only be confused when you get mad at them about it.
Everyone who creates things gets people asking for more of it. Authors, screenwriters, actors, whatever. That's a universal truth.
Take your time and get your head in order, we can wait.
2562075 I know, I know... I just needed to vent.

Jeez, life of stress, much? Anyway I would suggest finding a long, funny/feels-y story to read, they're very effective at relieving stress in my experience. I would recommend MLP loops back on fanfiction.net and/or fortressshy: the nine fathers right here on fimfiction. Don't want you pulling an olupplayer/rubberfruit on us, ya know...
Good luck with you IRL issues. If you're too stressed try to find new ways to relax (stress can ruin the brain).
And people should stop beign annoyign and know that good things are worth waiting. It's better to wait (even if it takes time) for an amazing product, that have constant bad updates of something. Take all the time that you need.
MOAR angry blogs!
