Okay. Well. Twilight Sparkle vs Social Inequality is now #2 on the frontpage. That was unanticipated. Not sure how to feel about that.

But, from the comments, there is one thing I think I need to clear up. So. Here it is. The formal, Word of God clarification.

It's a parody. I don't hate Twilight Sparkle.
If you like, I can do a nice long post later about why TS vs SI is not true, but seriously, it's a joke. Twilight is second-best pony (<3 Rarity).

Ahh, that lovely experience when you write parody and many people just hear a jet whooshing by as they angrily decry you for being a terrible person.
I'd be interested in reading a longer blog post about the story, even if it's simply just explaining the joke. I can be dense.
It's a parody that raises some very valid points. Why are you surprised people are reading a lot into it?
Personally, I would've played everything straight and made it a drama :-P
In all fairness, it's pretty accurate. Probably. The main characters get off pretty light with property destruction and general mayhem, but maybe Equestria just has the softest criminal justice system in fiction.
There's an idea. A story where pretty much anyone can be as accidentally destructive as Twilight or the CMC and they just have to write letters or whatever as a punishment.

Oh wait, never mind! I liked this story because:
a) It was hilarious and also made me a little sad for PurpleSmart, and
b) Twilight has edged out Rarity and Luna lately as Best Pony.
But that said, wow! It's like you walked up to a hornets' nest and whacked it with a baseball bat. Seems like it was just that easy.
You should make a blog post about why Sunset Shimmer is best pony.
