NaNoWriMo 2014 · 8:42pm Oct 26th, 2014
Hey all. I know I've been quiet lately, and to skip the apologies I'm going to keep this short. I know I probably, by now, have a policy of not finishing things very often, but NaNoWriMo (the National Novel Writers Month, for those not in the know) is the one thing that for the past 3 years I've finished on time every time, so I think I can be trusted to finish it.
This year, I'll be doing an alternate history novel, which I am very excited about. More to the point, I've set up a Skype group with Listener for anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year, whether it be a pony story or human story. So if any of you want to talk about ideas, discuss writing goals, or just chat while writing this November, you can join the Skype group by either asking me if you already have me as a contact, or by adding me on Skype. My username is toixstory and practical name is Lynn DeLuna, so add me if you feel like it.
Anyway, thanks for listening, hope to see some of you in the chat for this November's writing spree. Also, feel free to buddy me on the NaNoWriMo website if you're on it, my profile can be found here. (Ignore the name, it's a long story)
Also, in a similar vein, if you're interested check out and join the NaNoWriMo group here on Fimfiction!
Alt. history is that branch of speculative fiction that's always going to hold a special place in my heart, so I wish you well on this. Especially since, having read your other works, I know you can be trusted to not write The Difference Engine or Whitechapel Gods again (which were both fine ideas, but the former was so dry that I couldn't finish it, and the later was so boring that I didn't want to finish it).

I'm glad you like it, I'll put up a blog post when the novel is done, since it'll probably be hosted for free on various sites. And no, mine won't be too boring, I hope, combining literary elements from The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Band of Brothers, and more while using my own ideas of alternate history.

That made me feel cautious and uncertain, the Song of Ice and Fire.
And then this little part of my brain came out of nowhere and cuffed me something fierce. "What the hell do you have to be uncertain about? ToixStory's writing it!"
"Hey, you're right, brain! Past experience shows ToixStory to be excellent, so logically, I have nothing to worry about!"
"I'm left!"
I believe in ToixStory.

I'm glad you do! And when I mentioned A Song of Ice and Fire, I meant more of the narrative structure, i.e., making chapters all from third-person limited perspective of various characters. The actual story elements draw more on Band of Brothers, For Whom the Bell Tolls, the Leviathan series, Mortal Engines, and even Fullmetal Alchemist.
That picture is adorable.
Next year, I am definitely going to take part in it as an excuse to really get working on my first novel. Still too busy writing ponies this year.
I mean school... too busy with school, is what I meant to say.

I need some technical assistance. I can't seem to figure out how to add this story to one of my bookshelves.
You can do that, right? Add stuff to a bookshelf that is both not written and not hosted on FiM Fiction? And if not, well, we should be able to! Get with the program, knighty!
