Mente Materia Updated! · 2:14pm Oct 8th, 2014

To the folks who might have missed it, Mente Materia has been updated! Let me know what you think!

Actually, there is something odd with the chapters feed. Myself and other are reporting not receiving the chapters update so, thanks for the blog post.

Yeah, I hadn't gotten a notification either

Notifications no longer happen. I am figuring a lot of authors will be doing what you just did and making blogs that their stories updated.

I'm rather curious if folks following the story got the notification, or only ones who are also watching me through the site.

Well, I do both so I am not useful for figuring it out.

I received no notification, other than this blog.

*shakes fist* Knightyyyyyy!

2517363 Same for me, sorry.

I guess we are just overachievers, or at least thorough.

Im assuming its just a bug. Remember when all our notifications went AWOL a few weeks ago? I assume Knightly is working on that issue.

On a final note: Never play on patch day!

I am following both you and the story. My shelf showed a new chapter available but my feed only had this blog post and no new chapter posted listing.

Xaq seems to have the notion that chapter updates in feed was cluttery.
This makes me sad.

Yeah, we are still alerted to unread chapters, sort of. If you're on a PC, your shelf tracker displays the number of unread tracked chapters you have and you can find out that way. If you do all of your reading from your phone like I do, though, your shelf button displays no such notification number and you are out of luck. I love most of this update, but that detail breaks the site for me in a fundamental way.

Commenting on my lunch break from my phone really quick. One thing foks are discussing is the Ursa major, and I wanted to throw in my two cents.

In the site recon materials I believe they mentioned that the fishermen found the whale carcass already implanted while at sea. Setting aside the horror of the oceans teeming with Chryssalids, this would seem to indicate two things to me. One, the Chryssalids can and will work in packs and two, their victim doesn't necessarily have to be dead to be implanted.

The fire ants was a good comparison, but what if each bite spawned more ants from your tender flesh instead of just a painful sting? The Ursa might not understand the danger until its far too late.

Or perhaps it did understand the danger and got the hell out of dodge?

Either way, food for thought. :)

Edit: stupid mobile browser. I'll copy this to the actual story after work.

2518661 They re not threatened by chryssalids. Because chryssalids need flesh..

They are obviously not made of flesh. They are ethereal beings. You kinda can see through them.
