Tales of the Spectrum-Verse · 4:49am Oct 7th, 2014

I welcome you, dear traveler. It has been long since I have had the pleasure of meeting another in this place.

What? Where are we, you ask? Why, this is the Endless, young one. Here, time and space are irrelevant, for they do not exist in this empty vastness. Why is this you say? I am not sure of that myself; call it an “in-between”, the dimensions that separate all the different universes and alternate timelines that are.

"Excuse me, passing through."

"Oh, sorry, Discord."

"Thanks pal!"

Now then, where was I? Oh yes, how did you get here, you ask? Well, you are quite lucky I guess. Where do you live if I may be so bold to ask? Earth Prime! Very rare to meet one from your universe young one. What is it? You say you were only interested in seeing the new story that is a part of the Conversion Bureau-verse and yet you found yourself here? I must ask, why is this so surprising?

Your world is responsible for the millions of worlds that exist. Your ‘stories’ breathed life into these worlds. You, are more important than you can believe yourself to be.

But, I ask you now to come; come forward and listen to the tale I must spin of a unique realm… I advise you to make yourself comfortable young traveler, and let me tell you a story…

"Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest sister used her unicorn magicks to raise the sun at dawn while the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and subjects: all the different types of ponies… yet there lay six particularly great ones that wield the greatest and most powerful magic of all known to ponydom; the Elements of Harmony! The six virtues of their race; Honesty, Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, and, the greatest one of all, Magic.

"Despite many trials, events and actions that they faced; the return of tyrants, the battles against tricksters, the invasion of doppelgangers and more… Yet, for all the positivity they influenced on your world of Earth Prime, one being set their eyes upon them.

"Twas a youngling god, naive and foolish, who attempted to set upon their ideal world and to morph it in a way that would connect both Earth and Equestria as one.

"A very foolish idea, yet a well-intentioned one. Young as he was, he had no idea what he would unleash. In time, he would come to regret his actions, but he would be lost in the sea of howling voices when another came upon his idea and warped it even further for their goals of 'Perfection'. This being brought upon legions of devoted in its quest, and neither the Elements nor their leader could prepare them for the machinations of one; one whose darkness and delusions are far beyond that of Nightmare Moon herself. Its name is Chatoyance and its dark powers caused Equestria to move to a new world… the human world known as Earth.

"Her influence spread to them like a plague, turned them into horrific one dimensional caricatures that are committing atrocities of the highest order through Xenocide; none, not even the elements were spared from this corruption. The humans were treated like monsters that needed to be exterminated in spite of not having done any villainy. Under the powers of Chatoyance, the world bent to her whims, twisting humanity into villains whose only crime was being human. Ponies became hypocrites that used a cocktail known as 'The Potion' which turned humans into cardboard cutouts of ponies called Newfoals at the cost of their individuality, humanity and sense of self.

"Needless to say, a group of beings weren't all too happy with what Chatoyance had wrought. Despite things having been solved originally, the damage was still there and many brave souls fought to repair it, rallying under the banner of Carpinus Caroliniana. One wrote a desperate last stand between humans and ponies, as some of the last remaining humans fought for their very beings, one of them armed with Ten Rounds, a holy sigil. Another wrote of a world where ponies had won, a heretical concept, only to show how broken it would leave them, proving the futility of the crusade. One brave soul sought to have the entire world of Earth band together despite their own war which would have soon occurred in the 1930s'; another thought the same, though instead set it during the 1980s with the two sole super powers having been preparing for a war that would never come… had Equestria not appeared that is; one such figure, a ghost named Starman, decided to show things playing out realistically… however, he grew weary and had to withdraw; another, a Dalek that went by the name IX, continued the story in Starman’s place.

"And yet, then came one, a being who despised Chatoyance’s Conversion Bureau nonsense to the point of already having one story to undo the damage… he decided for there to be judgement over these events. He came forth and made his presence known, this was the Founder, the Emperor God of the Spectrum Verse; his name is Redskin and he was furious.

"His rage echoed through the realms, but he was one of many that desired the change of what the hated enemy created. He came off as simple at first, but as time went on he was a force to be reckoned with. His ideas flowed from his mind with ease, but they were hard to put in existence. His sense of justice, tempered by past experiences and facing threats that held life with little regard, demanded that this threat be put down, so he went out to acquire assistance and soon found one that would shape the world he desired.

"He was the Great Ruler, known as TB3; an accomplished being of power that brought several worlds into existence before meeting the creator of Spectrum, Redskin. He was intrigued with what the Emperor God was trying to create. Cool and collected, he helped him create the world he desired to the young one. All the while guiding him under his tutelage to better himself. When he felt his time to go, he did so but his guidance remained with Redskin. After some time, he returned in which the Emperor God welcomed him back with open arms and a smile.

"The Great Ruler is a being of words, able to weave worlds with simple ease, however, for all his saintly outlooks, he also dabbled in darkness if only to have a true conflict within his worlds.

"With the growing world under their care, another young one appeared, requesting to help him in the march against the darkness of Chatoyance.

"His name is Proudtobe and he is the Lord of War; he began to expand the world even further, his own creations intriguing the Emperor God. He was also well versed in warfare, and he helped in creating dozens of new means of fighting the darkness. This, along with his own additions, cemented his role into the world of the Spectrum-Verse.

"And yet more came, in this there was an architect that came to refine their vision. His name is Drawdex, and he became a cherished addition to growing pantheon and universe. He assisted the three with the story, always questioning the value of what was created. Never afraid to point out flaws in their ideas. He was welcomed and his words soon became center of all of their work… and yet tragedy would later strike and he would become forever lost… and constantly missed. He was the Great Architect, still praised even today.

"They soon came across yet another, his creativity showing such a greater potential for more than just adding to a growing a world. Strangely quiet and cautious fellow, his words were few and far between. But whenever he spoke, the ideas he gave were grand and worthy. Even when within the pantheon, he preferred to keep to himself. But respected he was to all, none could deny that. His name is Rush and he is the Noble Fool.

"One day, the Emperor God found a rather strange sight; there was a unique figure viewing the world that was being created. When confronted the figure introduced himself as Beyond the Horizon, as the Watchman of the 'In-between'; always viewing and never leaving, he kept a constant gaze on events that were unfolding. His humor, extreme intelligence and world leaping won over the favor of the Emperor God and was added to their still growing and great Pantheon. The Watchman showed that he liked to keep creating weapons of mass destruction that could easily be crafted by mortal hands with the proper teaching while also showing a like for peeping in on other worlds for ideas to battle against the enemy.

"They would eventually gain two unique members hailing from the great Encyclopedia of Tropes to round themselves out. The first, a curiously mournful and yet joyous creature; found journeying from the Fridge Section of The Encyclopedia of Tropes to Brazil. He embraces the Darkness of Life, he created a section to the world based on the thoughts of realized and unrealized horrors that occurred. Outside the darkness of his work, he was playful and a jester, but was driven to create the ultimate despair of the world, give it the gritty realism while still maintaining a sense of 'over-the-top' insanity. Of the Pantheon, he maintained great interest in the sorrows outside their champions, seeking to bring light to the trials and struggles of those that didn't get to be larger-than-life heroes. His own creations, while a strange addition to the world, helped center most of the original characters. It also gave the world the nightmares and horror necessary to round it off. He and Beyond are the Deathsmiths of the Pantheon, creating many instruments of destruction together.

“However, it was his small play of words and introductions of hundreds, if not thousands, of references would lead to his name. He would be known as the Embodiment of Pop Culture, though gaining the ire of the Watchman and later the Great Lord due to his tendencies which allowed for a… series of fun challenges to occur. His name is Doctor Fluffy.

"The second, a keeper of time that seemed to elude all, even the Watchman; she would only have appeared after mention to an unfortunate fate of a major country. She introduced herself to the Emperor God and the Embodiment as Kizuna Tallis, the Goddess of Continuity; she kept the history and events of all worlds in the Spectrum universe in check and actively tried to avoid mistakes.

"She would also give them the final piece that was missing within the world of Spectrum.

"Love, kindness, and respect.

"She adored the lives of the creations, cherished their choices and admired their resolve. She decided to add her own creations to the world, to show that working as one can truly be an experience in itself. But she gave all the creations the heart they needed to be truly 'alive'.

"However, the pantheon also need a woman's touch, and most of the members were quite rowdy if left unchecked. She became their heart, in which they gladly accepted her as one.

"Alas, there soon came a visitor; not another addition to the Pantheon mind you but an Avatar of Albion that was fighting a different form of the same darkness… and yet came because he felt a great loss in the Spectrum Verse, one that he had been working on preventing in his world.

"The members of the Pantheon told him of this world’s version of Europe, of how it was destroyed by the darkness. They then heard his story, of how a different element of the same darkness had grown far more powerful than before. Of how only the British Isle still stood, and the rest of the world was consumed. After hearing his plight the Emperor God gave him a gift; a speech to write for the King and his subjects to hear… and he accepted, telling them to simply call him Jed R.

"Many flocked to the growing world, but only a few ever reached the attention of the Pantheon themselves. They each added their own flair to the world, building it up even further into worlds of the Conversion Bureau. A group of Disciples that would help the Pantheon in different ways was created.

"Their names were Red Bomber, Inquisitor-Awesome, TheClosetBrony, Waypoint, VoxAdam, Sgtnolisten, CV12Hornet and Serpenti. Through their contributions the Pantheon managed to thrive even further and continue forth.

"They even managed to create even more with powerful alliances; the first being a rather strange being, having never been directly threatened by the Darkness yet actively antagonized it. Doctor Fluffy, inspired by a story of an equine raised in the human world, sought out a naval veteran by the name of Shinzakura and allowed for Discord's safe passage into his world. While Fluffy handled the partnership somewhat poorly and could have encouraged more cooperation, it was a friendship based on mutual hatred of Chatoyance. She existed in one form in Shinzakura's world, and the Embodiment allowed an alternate version of his Avatar (Viktor Marius Kraber) and his family and friends to rip her works to shreds.

"Namely, they reviewed a movie advocating the genocide of humanity. This in a world where humans and ponies (mostly) coexisted.

Oh don't laugh. It was still a victory for the Pantheon.

"As per Shinzakura's wishes, Discord would have little impact on his world, but it was a well-spent opportunity.

"As for the second, this entity was a being of great history and passion; indirectly inspiring the Pantheon until later coming to them and adding his world for them to travel to despite it partially suffering a lighter form of the Darkness in a way. This historian would be known as RK_Striker_JK_5 or as the Ruler of the Hasbro-Verse.

"You may be asking yourself how I know so much about the Pantheon, or what my point here is. You may be asking yourself why I’m telling this particular story. My answer is simple; I am TheIdiot but for everyone else I'm the Pantheon’s Storyteller. My duty is to be the one that travels between the worlds, to witness all sorts of things and find all sorts of tales and stories to be told. Never stopping, always traveling to witness the next adventure. I am the final part of this group, and I must tell all sorts of things that are."

Now that you have listened to my tale, you being here means that you have a story to tell. You, whose imagination that can breath life into new worlds, are now a god that will join others or become leader of your own Pantheon.

Tell me young one.

What world will you bring into existence?

Will you be one that leads a hero to save the princesses or countries? Lead on world wide travels to see new sights? Solve ancient mysterious from time long since past? Or simply bring laughter and joy for naught a reason?

Or will you be one that leads nothing but destruction of innocent souls? Enslave and abuse millions for a sick goal of fantasy made into reality? Kill and rape loved innocents to simply sate your blood lust?

I advise to be wary of your path.

For you may gain the ire of others that roam the 'in-between' if your world offends them, and be seen as a horrific creature like Chatoyance.

You may even gain the eyes of the darkness herself for continuing her dark plague or you may gain the Emperor God's favor to fight not only the darkness of the Conversion Bureaus, but the other darkness as well.

Or, perhaps, gain the attention of the others.

Lets see what path you take, and as for I? Well, I will travel and later on see what you may have made.

Til we meet again dear traveler.

2513652 I take it you like it

Magnificent.

2513657 Thank you Jed R.

2513658 I'll admit, some of the metaphors go over my head, but this is a lovely tribute to everyone who's worked on the Spectrum verse. Also reads vaguely like the Silmarillion, which is never a bad thing. :-)

2513674 Whats a Silmarillion?

2513677 the Silmarillion was JRR Tolkien's collection of tales concerning the early mythology of Middle Earth.

I see all that occurs in this vast, great multiverse of ours... And I'm here to tell you: War is coming. The Darkness and the Light will clash... What happens then? Who knows for certain. You are the only one who can decide that.

I've seen it all, darkness engulfing the light, snuffing it out, allowing it to grow in size and power, overtaking entire worlds in days... Before facing something even it can not fathom.

Light, burning through the darkness, till all the bones of the world are laid bare... And sometimes, the light is too harsh, too final, and ends up destroying everything anyway.

Sometimes a truce is created, though whether those last or simply fall apart, it's too chaotic to even figure out.

I've watched these worlds rise and fall, great minds and craven cowards alike, building upon ideas, imaginations! Wonderful worlds full of life and sound, dead, dry worlds of dust and bone, barren of anything that could be called life. I've seen betwixt and between, the areas amidst the titans and ants.

Tell me, dear traveler, what will your world be known for? While it's true there are no original ideas left in this world or the next... Everyone has their own interpretation, every one a slightly different and new view of the same tale. No story is the same for two people, for two fundamentally different views browse it. What will your interpretation be?

Ah... Where are my manners? Welcome to the Infinite Worlds of the Multiverse.

My name? Haha... I have many names, though I suppose the most appropriate one for the moment would be... Beyond the Horizon. That is my name. I am the Watcher of the Ways, the Observer Shrouded in Silence. The Watchman, as it were.

May I ask your name, in return?

Exerpt from the meeting of the Watchman and the Emperor-God.

2513680 Ah, I wouldn't know this because Tolkin isn't my kind of jam. But still given how he is a very looked upon author in favor I'll take that as a compliment.

2513686 well, he's one of my favourites. Someone compared me to him once, I think I almost died right there (metaphorically speaking).

2513681 Okay I admit Horrizon that was good, but next time you decide create something like that could you run it by me first? I don't use an Omniverse, I use the Multiverse and Hypertime for alternate universes and timelines respectively.

2513688 Well you can't die, if you do who will fight against the Tyrant's forces in your world? Who lead the last remnant of Humanity against the darkness?

Anyway though, I thank you for your words; sorry for the lack of track but I couldn't think of anything that would work for your character.

2513689

Mmm. I'll do that.

I generally think in the terms that even a Multiverse is connected somehow to a greater collation of universes, that sort of just stretch on to infinity at some point.

But yeah, that's fine, I can fix that.

Edit:

Fixed.

2513689

But seriously, the feels man, the feels! I didn't think I'd ever warrant having someone write something even remotely flattering about meself, but... The world moves in strange ways, does it not?

2513694 Well how I see it is that both Hypertime and the Multiverse are made up of Space, Time and Dimension.

Hypertime has it be that its Time & Dimension over Space - Time being a big river that has multiple branching off points that can have it be so that anything can occur. This is best explained with the chapter of TCB Bon Bon seeing various Alternate Timelines of the Spectrum Verse in that one chapter. She was going through each of the branching tributaries bodies.

The Multiverse is Space and Dimension over Time - each universe exists in its own dimension and space while Time is uneven. The Spectrum Verse has it be that the TCB Reality is ahead by four years yet time in the Canon Reality with each day being every two hours at Earth and TCB Equestria.

That's my two cents on it at least, also I take it you enjoy your track

2513702

Mmm. An interesting take on things. As I've stated before, though, everyone has their own ways of viewing things. Whatever works for ya, and it does seem to work for ya.

And,

also I take it you enjoy your track

Yeah, :rainbowlaugh:

I thought it'd be perfect for a mysterious character's introduction, tinged with a bit of strife and things great and terrible to come. I happen to love that kind of character. So yeah, it fit poifectly.

2513701 Hell if I know, time isn't really relevant for a Storyteller and I've been to so many worlds this one doesn't really surprise me these days this much.

2513705 Great, now all that's left is for us to do stuff

2513711

And for me... That'll be reading all the stories I haven't read in that list. :rainbowlaugh:

2513720 What's sad about them is that only two are complete, the others either weren't or were cancelled

2513723

Ah damn it. I hate seeing cancelled stories. It feels like someone axed a great oppertunity they had, and then failed to properly bury the corpse, so it's just kind of still there, above ground, twitching every now and then.

2513727 Like a Newfoal! :derpytongue2:

2513728

Like a Newfoal.

Never said me own job wasn't filled with such dangers though, yeah?

Stare into the abyss and the abyss stares back and all that. Though me n me dark half already have a standing truce.

2513731 My fictional counterpart is the Spectre, before that he was a 30,000+ year old immortal with black blood, a heart as dark as space, rapid cell regeneration, has the physical body of a 15 year old and was desperately trying to find his way home.

Basically Doctor Who and Sliders put into a blender without any of the bad episodes.

Say wanna hear my next crazy idea?

2513691 Hey, I'm just glad to be here. :-)

  :raritystarry: :yay:

Thank you guys! :pinkiehappy:

I am so grateful to have met and worked with all of you! We're like a family :derpytongue2:

Of course, either one of these would have been my chosen theme song. Don't get me wrong I liked what you got there for me, but I'm just in love with this.

And the above's remix...

2513831 I tried but the one I found was the one that I thought would best suit your character for the most part

2513883 It's absolutely fine!

2513884 To somewhat quote Beyond the Horrizon

If this doesn't wind up in the Heartwarming or Awesome Pages on TV Tropes I'll be sad.

2513889 I hope so, given the next crazy idea of mine

I know that this is played for laughs, but I'm gonna go with it :rainbowlaugh:

I already had created a world, although it needs work and motivation. I'll give you a hint on what it's about.

"KAKAROT!!"

Not much I can say beyond what I said before. Rather well-written overall and just plain nice. :yay:

Like pretty much all things Spectrum, this was either awesomely ridiculous or ridiculously awesome. By which I mean to say I liked it quite a lot.

2514047 Well we who create are gods in a way, thank you Vox for your Fourth Dimension/Out of the Cube Based Thinking and logics. :pinkiehappy:

2514045 I'm glad it still stands from the last time; I thank you for your kind words, inspiration and contributions RK

2514001 Is it over 9,000? :pinkiecrazy:

2514058 You could say that it's power is maximum and legendary.

2514063 Cue How I Met Your Mother Barney Clips

A really awesome tribute to everyone on the ATCB side. It reads kind of like a narration of Greek myth or the Bible. The characterization of Blaze as a naive god was pretty clever too.

I especially like the message at the end that essentially said "Choose your destiny and write your story."

And now a song:

We're a group of writers,
The Barrier's closing in.
We're few in number but
more are coming in.

When we see the bureaus,
we pen with righteous wrath.
We will resist and write!

Write hard! For we are one!

For when the hate flies, we stand strong!
Penning stories where Humans and Ponies get along.
(Get along!)

And this has inspired me to continue my own TCB story.

Times like this I wish I could be a part of things like this once again.

Beautiful work good sirrah, beautiful work.

2513737

Sure.

What absurd ideas do you have in store next? :rainbowkiss:

2514491 Well, I'd rather share it with you in private

2514284 It means a lot to hear that coming from the one that started it all, I'm a very glad that I managed to inspire the one that has us in this war dance. Thank you so much

2514668 Huh, some for odd reason I think that if there was a punk rock version that I've seen I would of added it in

ooo is this an open invitation. Well I think's about time Tzeentch got his revenge. Don't you think?

2516468 Ummm I'm sorry but what? This is a big thank you to the Spectrum Crew's members and their fans along with commemorating the Anti-Conversion Bureau for inspiring the Spectrum Verse.
