Back from my week off · 10:37pm Sep 23rd, 2014
Where we stayed was beautiful, in a cabin outside of Grand Lake, Colorado, way up in the mountains. We drove through Rocky Mountain National Park a bunch of times, and did some hiking. Honestly, though, I wasn't expecting the elevation to affect me as much as it did. Walking around 12,000 feet above sea level left me gasping for air and feeling like I was about to pass out. It got better as time went on, but man was that a trip! The wife and I took hundreds of pictures, we got to see a bunch of elk running around (not a single moose, though... ), and we swung by the The Stanley Hotel (the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining) on the way out.
Sadly, I didn't get nearly as much writing done as I wanted. However, I DID manage to completely re-work the next three chapters of CMAA. I'm really pleased with how the new climax turned out. I still have to write the final chapter, do some final tweaking and tightening, and then it will be time for publishing. I'll drop all four chapters all at once, because they all end in cliffhangers, and I don't want to be lynched so soon after coming back from vacation
Once I'm done with that, I want to write up some horror stories I've had banging around in my head for a while. I hope to publish those next month. Then, it's back to Sunflower full time!
Thanks for reading!

Your wife must be amazing to hear the phrase "Come on, dear. Let's go visit this hotel that was the inspiration for The Shining. It will be fun." and not promptly kick you out of the car and floorboard the accelerator
(Darnit, now I've translated that phrase into Pony, and it's just like something AJ/RD would do)

It was actually her idea... I'm the one who was mildly creeped out
Estes Park, huh? Did you take highway 36 by any chance?

I feel ya man but once you acclimate to the elevation the high mountains is one of the best places for physical training.
Especially for stamina.
Ehh just pretend I didn't say that.
aww shoulda stopped by boulder and visited!
If you wrote a oneshot while at the hotel, would it be a Stanley parable?
I was wondering if you had died.
Hope you enjoyed Colorado!Been particularly rainy here though so i hope it didn't ruin your trip sometimes.

You know, I don't recall... We did stop and eat at Poppy's Pizza & Grill, though. Was pretty good!

I eventually started getting used to it. I was looking forward to coming back down the mountain and feeling like a superhero (Exertion Man!), but that didn't happen

Ah, but we did! We drove through Boulder, stopped at Lucille's (odd place, good food) for lunch one day

You know, I had an idea to write a story based off of that. I was going to call it "The Twilight Parable". But it ran out of steam, and I abandoned it when I realized that the only ideas I did have was just re-hashing the game

I'm not quite dead! You should be seeing more from me fairly soon!

It rained a couple of times, but far from ruining anything, we used that as an opportunity to stay indoors and talk or read. We had a great time!
2480132 going to Lucille's for breakfast is somewhat of a valentine's day tradition for my family, so it's really cool you went there.
2480132 You know there is a place I love going to every vacation just up the hill from Richfield, Utah called Fish Lake. It is such a beautiful place and the lake is almost always smooth as glass. If fishing is your thing then its definately worth the trip. If not, well, there are lots of pon...er horses.
2480132 Good, as I was checking your profile before I was going to send a "Sanka, you dead?" message. You lucked out this time.
If Plum Pudding and Cinnamon Swirl were voiced, what would they sound like?
