Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.

When she was birthed with horn and wings she was thought to be a pegacorn, a rare and blessed blending of the tribes, whose long life and power brought wealth and stature. Then the guards came, seeking the first alicorn born in over a thousand years.

It's the obligatory new year blog post.

And yes, I am posting this at around midnight on new year. I have a nasty cold, so I decided to disobey nurgle's one command and stay home.

    Just for kicks

I'm mucking around with Lulu for a work-related project (very boring stuff) and thought I would do a quality test with something fun.

    The odd things

I've just been reading through old comments on my scraps story, after publishing yet another chunk from the ancient cutting room floor. It's remarkable how many of the commenters are still around - but also how many logged off for the last time, soon after making their last comment there.

    But in brighter news

While I'm not making any promises about any particular project here, I am actually writing again. I figure if I write enough of something, some pony words might drop out somewhere along the line as well. You never know. What I'm working on at the moment is essentially a re-write of a story I read a long time ago; an old pulp sci-fi tale, about a spaceship that manages to get lost in the

Succession - what do you want to see next? · 10:59pm Sep 19th, 2014

I've rambled about a follow-up to this for a while and I have a whole bunch of ideas noted out, but I'm curious to know what you readers - who apparently so enjoyed the fic - want to see next.

So tell me. Leave comments. Or just point and laugh at the writer who can't seem to write... :derpytongue2:

Lots of sexy pony butts and explosions because I can't think of a sensible answer.

I enjoyed it. I don't think it needs a sequel. :moustache:

Should you decide to write one, however, I can't think of what it should contain. Does Twilight, being the Princess of Friendship, regale her of tales of her friendships starting with her first ones? Does Morning Glory accept everything at face value and what lessons would Twilight have for her? Does she ever visit her parents again?

I can't remember, but I have the feeling even Spike isn't around.

One of those belongs to the Paragon of Honesty. :ajsleepy:

I'd be curious to see how Morning Glory adapts to the court and what aspect she takes on. What role do the elements of harmony / rainbow power play in this post Celestia / Luna world?

Asking what I want to see is like asking a colorblind person what red looks like. Honestly, I would have no idea what would be neat to see in a future chapter(s).
A continuation of the current point of view, maybe based around Morning's development and what she wants to/will become. Maybe the introduction of an antagonist? I'd make a suggestion but if it was used it would spoil it for me later on!

I want to see how Morning Glory ascension will affect the world, and I want to know more about Twilight’s past.

There ya go. Hop to it.

This. And how resolve that whole "She's not your daughter anymore" issue with her parents.

I say you continue where we left off. Twilight needs to open up about her past and start teaching her pupil, much like Celestia was with her. We need more back story, more insight, more bonding between student and mentor. WE. NEED. SLICE OF LIFE/DRAMA!

Yes.

Which is to say that no matter what you write, if you're writing more Succession, then you'll probably cover some of what I want to see. More than anything, I just want to see more of this story.

Yes.

And i would like to see Morning Glory call out Twilight on having been basically kidnapped, and ask to see her parents because she's scared.

Might be interesting to see a oneshot about Glory learning magic, and some storytime from Twilight.

Actually, what I want to see is Glory coming home to her parents and explaining the whole thing. Because tearful feels. Twilight did say she could go back if she wanted once she's got a proper hold on her powers, right?

2467899 Boom

2467914 Spike isn't around, nope.

2469310 She did say that, yep.

2469290 2469310 2468816 Parents you say? Oh they're dead now. Twilight had their village razed right after she left. Then salted the earth, and then turned it into a volcano.

:trollestia:

Actually one of the ideas I've been pondering would deal with the parents and also Morning Glory learning about politics. Fascinating stuff...

They could actually completely reject themselves as parents, saying "Oh, but your real parent must be Harmony/Magic/The Holy Spirit/The Princess/etc" and entrust her to Twilight's care completely. They'd be very proud and happy of Morning Glory, think they did the best choice, and completely disregard the emotional nuking they inadvertently dropped on her.

2469286 I agree with him, I'd be happy with the continuation of this story and whatever you chose to write about it!

No Room for Regret, man.

2469789 Well if you must insist on me finishing what I started...

:trollestia:

2469819 See? I actually read that in Star's voice.
