I'm a mysterious man with a large Viewer list, despite being very self critical of my work. Looking to write professionally someday.

    Where I've Been

    Wow... it's been a while.

So... yeah. Where have I been? I've been at home. And I didn't realize it until this weekend, but I've been pretty unhappy since this whole mess with the pandemic began.

My Little Pony: A New Generation

Well, the last month has been a nightmare of overtime and fixing up my house, but today I managed to see the premiere of G5.

    Look Before Your Sleep

Well, here we are. Another inevitable episode about these different ponies who had little in common now having to put up with each other after having a mutual friend in Twilight. I can picture this already having happened between Rarity and Rainbow Dash, having learned to live with each other after having a mutual friend in Fluttershy.

    Where I've Been

Yeah... I'll bet you're wondering about my absence lately. I swear I didn't mean to take one.

Until the pandemic actually ends (and I mean ends, not just when everything opens back up) I'm going to be working overtime. I'm hoping it's coming to an end, but there is still mandatory hours for June.

I have a lot in the pipes, and I will still rereview the series. Just... please be patient.

IDW Comic Issue #22 review! · 11:15pm Sep 18th, 2014

This is going to be a short review, because I found it wasn’t much to comment on.

Well, Equestria has video games and movie theatres but still uses paper boys. Go figure.

Anyway, Fluttershy and Apple Bloom head to the museum where apparently Twilight is the only Alicorn not to get a picture on it. Using the scrap of map, they conclude that the thief will steal the Forehoof Pendant next.

Meanwhile, Trixie, Babs, Applejack, and Rarity are looking through jewelry stores to see if Rough Diamond sold anything she stole. There’s actually a really sweet bonding moment between Trixie and Babs as both relate that they used to be bad ponies.

Rarity recognizes one of the gems as belonging to a necklace that was stolen. After flagging down the salespony, Rarity does things that makes me really wish she had already got an interrogation scene in Direction. Also, apparently it was too dark to tell the thief’s coat, but not her cutie mark.

Back at Babs’s apartment, which the police have apparently not searched despite the fact that she’s a fugitive, the group agree to catch Rough Diamond in the act. That night, they break into the museum, and it’s nice to see Trixie’s sleight of hand hoof being used so effectively.

Though, I’ve got to say: it looked like Fluttershy was in her bunny suit until I realized that the artist just really screwed up her ears.

When Rough Diamond shows up, they try to stop her, but she escapes and they get caught by the police.

Suddenly, Babs claims that Trixie did steal the diamond to lead them on, but it’s, of course, a ploy so they can get the real thief... Officer Fluffels. It seems her cutie mark was painted on, and Babs noticed a smudge. And the comic ends with everything hunky dory. Guess resisting arrest and breaking and entering aren’t crimes in Equestria.

This was... okay. Nothing offensive, but nothing special.

Oh, but don’t worry, I’m reviewing something truly offensive for my next review. Something I’ve been wanting to rip into for a while. It’s non-official, but it’s not a fan comic either.

Next time: My Little Phony: A Brony Adventure, by Dynamite Comics.

How bad are we talking? Are we talking Frank Miller level offensive or what?

No. It turned out not to be exactly what I thought it was, but it's still by and large the worst comic I've read. (Haven't read Holy Terror)

Never heard of it, should I have heard of it? :applejackunsure:

As in her skill in questioning was that good or that bad?

2465568 It's a decent parody of fandom in general, with a specific emphasis on the brony community for the first 15 pages.

The last 15 pages are where the story completely falls apart.

2465840 I think it's the former.
