About 96 hours · 11:39pm Sep 16th, 2014

Yep. That's it. 96 hours of mediocre entertainment for my $60 I spent on Destiny. Unfortunately, it was the digital edition.

Lesson learned, wait for reviews.

I've since returned to finishing up Gears 3, and I also snagged Borderlands 2 for $5. I'm only Level 7 in Borderlands 2, and already feel like I've made more progression than through 20 levels in Destiny. Good job Bungie. Hype is very very dangerous, and you don't know how to handle it.

The Traveler. The Darkness. The Speaker.

The piss-poor writing.

I've heard maybe 2 minutes of dialogue from Handsome Jack, and already I can't wait to stick my gun barrel down his throat. That's a character.

But enough about how I wasted $60.

Borderlands 2 is my favorite game ever. :D

96 hours isn't that bad, really. There are lots of games that I get maybe 30 minutes out of -- those are a waste of money. And your average shooty game is maybe 5-10 hours even if I like it.

I don't think I played Borderlands 2 for 96 hours before getting sick of it. I don't even think I played for 96 hours before stopping. It was pretty tedious.

2460418 No, that's just 4 days in general. Maybe about 9 hours of gameplay.

So, aside from the storytelling, what else is mediocre?

There's a reason why I no longer pre-order games or buy them on day one. Heck, I don't even have one of the new consoles yet. I now tend to wait a week or two after a game is released before deciding to buy it.

Borderlands 2 is an amazing game. I just can't stop playing it, and even though I've gone back and beaten it countless times, I can't help but go back and KEEP playing it. It's super addicting.

2460430 Without story or good writing, the entire thing feels like a solidly built grindfest.

who you playin' as in borderlands 2?

2460427 Ouch. Yeah, then I'd feel ripped off. MMOs should hold your interest for longer.

2460519 The assault guy, forget the name. One with the deployable turret.

2460527 I'm playing as Zero, badass ninja. Also, what console?

2460713 I have 1 for 360, and 2 for PS3

2460741 Cool. I have both for 360.

i enjoy destiny..but thats just me..might be because im used to such grindy games. still i think ill stick to my favorite game, vindictus. might be my favorite cos its on the computer tho..

Don't feel too bad, I bought watch dogs AND the season pass, I got a really mediocre GTA for $60 and an RC car for another $50.

Play Wolfenstein: The New Order instead.... it's a great game worth the money.

Borderlands 2 is one of the best games I had a pleasure playing, and the Gears 3 multiplayer is amazing if you actually learn how to play it, because you're immediately thrown into deep water, you either get two kills and fifteen deaths or fifteen kills and two deaths.

I'm rather happy I didn't pick it up then.

2460461 This is why I not only ordered the pre-sequel, but kind of the reason I want to write a Borderlands story to begin with. That kind of story to begin with. It's humor and loot driven fun, not to mention the character of the whole universe, is so unique. Nothing is like it. I hope several of the people in here get in on PC. I would love to share shiny droppings with people.

And maybe me talking about Borderlands made you get it, Miles? From what I've read the loot in Destiny pales to Borderlands. The only game that nears Borderlands in loot to me is Torchlight, but even then, Borderlands is also a shooter.

2461031 I am making my way through that as well. Taking a short break from it, got stuck at a particularly hard spot on the moon.

If you had Borderlands 2 for PC, I would get your tag and invite you to do runs with me. And as for the Destiny hate, this is why I ALWAYS torrent a game before I buy it. If I like it, I can purchase the real thing and enjoy it while still supporting the team. If I don't like it I dump it and didn't waste my money. PC Gaming Master Race.

I enjoyed the 1st borderlands so much I pre-ordered Borderlands 2. best pre-order to date.

What class are you playing?

At the moment i have a Lv51 Maya and a Lv32 Zer0, working to do Gaige and Krieg next

2461401 I think it's the Commando, guy with the deployable turret.

2461404

yeah, turret guy is the commando. at lv 51 his turret chews through enemies

2461458 Hoping I can get to level 51. I played Borderlands solo, and got to 31 before the final boss rolled out.

Console or PC Borderlands 2? If it's PC, we could play sometime. I have a handful of characters, NONE of which I've made significant progress with.

Also, do you have any of the DLC? Because Butt-Stallion.

2461567 I have it for 360, and no DLC.

2461460
2461591
Lv50 is your cap if you have no DLC. I can go up to Lv72 cus i have the main DLCs plus the "Assault on Digistruct Peak" DLC

I really recommend getting the DLC, Borderlands2 has the BEST dlc ever. the addon campaigns are epic and the Levelcap boost is nice. the best of the DLC tho is "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep"

Its totally worth the $30 for the main 4 DLCs (season pass) (I'm not sure on the pricing for consoles)

If only we could cross platform co-op

BTW, if you want gold keys for the sanctuary gold chest. follow @borderlands on twitter, occasionally they give out "Shift" codes to redeem for keys, and by signing up for Gearbox "Shift" you get a free key

2461011 I think the reason it wasnt what the trailers promised was because how long it was indevlopment. While this can be good at times, allowing the devs to iron out and polish the game, it can be a detriment, like Duke Nukem Forever :pinkiesick:

Borderlands 2 manages to be quite challenging on True Vault Hunter Mode. But it's worth it for all the e-tech you get. Especially if you have Gunzerker. Then it becomes Borderlands 2: the quest for more dakka.
SMGs, assault rifles, gryojet shotguns, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that it's TIME TO OVERCOMPENSATE!

See the good side at least it wasnt Metal Gear Ground Zeroes payed 59 dollars for 1 hour, now i only buy games reviewed by Angry Joe

2461962 I paid 12 bucks

2461962 Ground Zeros is longer than an hour, do all the missions, try and find all the FOX patches, use different approaches, if you get the FOX patches, you get an optional mission.

2462238 In later replays i everything i could to make my money worth, but still that doesn't change that the main mission is so short it can be done in six minutes, and i bought it on pre-order so still i was some kind happily disapointed great game but i expected somenthing to relax my mind untill the phantom pain :pinkiesad2:

2462589 Phantom Pain looks depressing, yet awesome. Also, fi you saw the gas mask wearing child, two things came to my mind. "Are you my mummy?" and Pyscho Mantis

I play Siren usually. My main is currently level 70.
