Well, if I'm being honest, there's not a large amount to report. I'll make it look like a large amount anyways.

Unfortunately (and fortunately for a variety of reasons I'm not actually interested in) I ended up being able to enroll for my classes on time. Of course, I still cannot afford to stop working full time, which means I have significantly less time to spend working on Visionary than I had anticipated for the fall months.

That being said, the story already has two completed chapters, which while that doesn't seem like an overwhelming amount, is actually pretty good. Especially when you consider that those two chapters equal roughly twenty thousand words, which is about one-fifth the length of old Visionary. Granted, the original Visionary wasn't that long, but having chapters this size is typically outside the norm for my writing (in case you didn't notice). I suspect, however, that it will become the norm for Visionary: there's just so much content to explore and reveal, even in the first book of the intended trilogy. My hopes of finishing a rough draft of the entire book by New Year's Day is probably unrealistic, but I'll sure as hell try.

Along similar lines, Chris has finally started work on his story as well. The Visionary redo lacks an actual prologue, and starts right at chapter one, but that sort of start isn't part of Chris' work. I suspect he'll have the prologue done in short order, though I don't suspect he will be sharing it widely, as it is also intended to be saved for publication. From the start of it, and what little I've seen (I've been trying to avoid reading "over his shoulder" as he writes in Google Drive) I anticipate great things. Chris, on the other hands, anticipates extensive editing. Typically when it comes to writing, I tend to be correct, and he tends to be wrong (this is a Unity Games joke), so get hyped for the great things I just prophesied. Legend of Quill will be his main series, and I cannot wait to read (and edit, I suppose) the first book when he completes it.

So he'd better hurry.

I'm also eager to report that besides you loyal little devils here (and the unwary people who favorite Visionary but don't read my blogs) Chris has actually been uncovering an understanding of "outside interest" for this universe he and I are crafting. While little actual writing (compared to what remains to be written, anyway) has been done for the books, our universe and character notes are fairly extensive. Anytime Chris or I start talking with someone who doesn't know anything about it, and start going into details, they tend to stick around and ask questions. It's just another good sign that these works will be worth sharing, when the time comes.

The Visionary world map will also be getting a rework in the very near future, for obvious reasons. This one will be significantly larger, owing to the fact that there are a lot more world events, peoples, and places than there were in Visionary-verse 1.0.

And that about wraps it up for this month's blog. All the other projects are still in standby mode (I don't have the time anyways) so there's nothing to report there, though they certainly haven't been canceled or anything like that.

Have fun you crazy kids,
Aaron.
