    Reading of "Hope" by TheDizzyDan

My good friend TheDizzyDan did a reading of my story "Hope", in which poor Princess Celestia goes through a rather unpleasant experience, to say the least. I've embedded the reading below. If you want a bit of music to go with it, play this in the background: (link)

    Audio interview: TheDizzyDan

My good friend the dobermans recently interviewed fellow author TheDizzyDan, and he asked me to share it with you all. This time, the interview was done through audio rather than a simple text exchange, appropriately since he specializes in audio readings.

    An Apology

Having a negative opinion of someone's story is no excuse for childish and rude behavior toward them. I have therefore deleted my previous blog post and would like to apologize in public to both people involved (link) (link) I also have a more detailed apology/explanation for both if they are

Rant: spam-happy user pages (short blog this time, I swear) · 7:48pm Sep 9th, 2014

I'm sure most of you have run into this at some point during your stay on FimFic (though this could apply to any other site): a userpage that is filled to the brim with pics (including GIFs and/or huge high-res images), YouTube embeds, quotes that are BS, the user's racist opinions, links to weird places on the web, and a ton of other content that has questionable value. Even if the intention was to avoid a "boring" userpage, I can't help but feel that this practice has only two effects, neither of which are pleasant:

1) The page takes ages to load, it slows the shit out of my comp, and all the important stuff (stories I might be interested in, the comments section, etc.) becomes buried in junk that I need to sift through.

2) It's pretentious. Not funny, not clever, not interesting, just pretentious. If this is the way you intend to tell the world what a "great troll" you are, or whatever else you might want them to think, then you are trying too hard. A single, well-written line, or just one well-placed pic can have an infinitely greater impact than flooding your page with a lot of nonsense because it's "cool," or "funny," or whatever.

That said, what are your thoughts? How do you all feel when you run into this phenomenon?

Feel free to bash the shit out of my own page if you feel like it... ;)

Believe it or not, I think a few months ago it became against the rules to have a profile like that.

I'll just hide behind this tree here, don't mind me...

News to me. Not to mention a lot of not-so-unpopular-that-noone-would-ever-notice-anyway type profiles still remain unchanged despite such rules.

:ajsmug:

2441573 I think it's because both a lot of people don't know about the rule and the mods can't be bothered to enforce it.

I have a box of links, and a few memorable quotes people said to me.

I'm guilty of this crime.

I'd never put anything in my user-page that wasn't completely necessary.

I tried to put some pictures in my home-page, but my laptop wouldn't let me. :twilightangry2:
So I just said "F:scootangel:k it, just let my stories speak for themselves."
Seems to be working so far.

2443315 Like I said. I only put pictures on my page if they are completely necessary. :trixieshiftleft:
