Poll Closed · 5:49am Sep 5th, 2014
So I guess no one likes polls; 45 views and 5 or 6 votes.
Since I'm already at a higher view rate than my average for my previous blog, I think I've gotten all the votes I will, so I'm closing it. The winner is, predictably, Just a Joke. I do think it was one of my best oneshots, and it did get featured. I'm gonna have to make some changes to that ending scene though; add some dialogue and such so it won't clash so badly with the rest of the fic. Add some heavier emotions, makes the discussions a little longer... yeah, I think I can do that. I'll be starting the rewrites this weekend and hopefully sending it off to EQD soon. then I wait for a couple months to get the inevitable rejection notice. Seriously; who gets onto EQD the first try? I know I'm not going to.
Anyway, Imposter has hit the 50% marker, and I can begin the second half where the plot twist is revealed, then deal with, then I can finally give the fluffy Twidash payout I've been craving to write for days. Well, that and the scenes. Those are gonna be fun too. I think the twist is gonna throw you guys for a loop, not to mention the one scene I just wrote is going to make you question everything the fic made you believe up until that point.
Missing Dreams is... ugh, I want to finish Imposter before tackling that again. I want to finish Imposter before anything else right now. It has a premise I've wanted to write for such a long time, and now I have both the ideas and the skill to do so.
I hope to have it out around next weekend, if not sooner depending. i'll probably split it up into two chapters, but maybe not. We'll see in time.
Until next time,
Kodeake out
Two things: One, you had the poll up for about 24 hours, and you're surprised at the lack of votes? you need to run it for longer than that.
Two, speaking as the last original EqD pre-reader, getting onto EqD first try is... tough as hell, to put it nicely. I think we can count the number of authors who've pulled that off in the four years since we started doing fanfic on both hands. Expect to have to make revisions, but know that we will work with you.
