Based on the previews and clips that I've seen of this sequel...it seems they are officially disconnecting the pony world from the human world, at least to a great extent. One of my biggest issues with the first EQG was that they crossed pony world and human world and with all the rumors flying about on this being the new cannon, I was fairly less than pleased with this continuity shattering "movie"...
Me upon hearing these rumors:

Okay...so I was a bit more than "fairly less than pleased" with them shattering the continuity... but as writers you can't blame us!
As any writer knows; Continuity shattering is the "ULTIMATE NO-NO" unless you have a VERY GOOD REASON for it.
Once I realized the rumors were just that, rumors, I was able to sit back and go "okay, I'll watch it...if anything to fill the void in my heart that S3 left"
And believe you me, I put on my full critic gear and was ready to rip this movie a new one expecting it to be the worst thing ever!
^I shit you not, this was me the entire movie up until the end. If not for that Celestia damned horrible endi-*halts* wait a second....

Now THIS impressed me, they took a horrible cliche ending and turned it into something usable to Sunset Shimmer's character as backstory.
WELL DONE WRITERS! You never fail to impress me, except you Merriwether Williams...
You have a LONG WAY TO GO if your going to get my approval.
In a nutshell I'm looking forward to this movie ALOT more than I was the first EQG. Since it's going to be isolated to the "human world" it means the movie can progress on it's own two feet rather than relying on yanking poor twilight from Equestria to string the plot along.
*suddenly notices every EQG fanboy and fangirl glaring at me*
YIPE! Don't look at me like that! It was a good movie don't get me wrong but it had its flaws...even though thoses "flaws" nearly killed the movie's plot ten times over...
Anyways, I should be going before the fanboys and girls start rioting...

I am actually very excited to see it. and OMFG it is showing 2 blocks from my home. I already read the book (a few times) but seeing the clips and the thing that tells you the shows plot (cant recall what it's called I know it starts with an S >.<) but one thing I wanna know is about twilight since in the book it says "Twilight Sparkle wondered if she'd ever get a chance to return to canterlot high now that the magic mirror was gone" and in the whole movie she is not mentioned till the end after all is good and she recalls her friends. how ever the dazzels are not mentioned at all so... yeah wondering how much of the book is true. while it aint pony pony it's still pony related and this bucking drought is killing me the promo's on the hub are so true. "with out pony's is so empty" or something like that it's 3am and I'm too tired to get aggravated checking google.
