The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge · 9:37pm Sep 1st, 2014
Yesterday, I was informed that someone nominated me for the notorious Ice Bucket Challenge for the ALS Association.
Lady Froey posted herself doing the challenge, and then challenged three others to do the same, starting with me. Now, even though I would love to pour ice-water on my head on camera, I'm afraid that I'm not able to do this challenge.
Why? Well, there's actually a few reasons.
1. I don't have a good video camera. And if I'm gonna do this on video, I want to do it with something that has a better video quality than a potato.
2. My computer currently has an extremely limited amount of free space (like, less than 500 mb), so I wouldn't be able to put any video files of mine on it if I did do the video. I'm planning on getting a new laptop soon.
3. Financially speaking, I'm not able to afford both a new camera, AND a new computer in the time needed to do this challenge.
I'm sorry if this is a letdown to anyone, but I can't record myself pouring ice-water on my head for this challenge.
HOWEVER
With that being said, I do think that the ALS Association is a very important charity, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone who's donated and helped raise awareness for this worthy cause. Because of that, I decided to do something a little more helpful than just recording myself getting doused in ice-water:
To show my support for this worthwhile charity, I donated $30 to the ALSA to further help in ALS research. While this might not be nearly as entertaining as freezing myself, I think this is a more helpful thing to do in the name of this charity. In fact, I think Charlie Sheen said it best when he responded to the Ice Bucket Challenge:
"Let's face it: Ice is gonna melt, but this money is actually gonna help people."
So yeah, this is my response to Lady Froey. I didn't do the challenge, but I still helped out the ALSA, so I hope that counts.
Also, the newest chapter to Brushed Away 2 IS written! I just need to get it proofread and looked over before publishing. SEE YA!
Awwwwww... That's even better! Thanks for accepting my challenge.
(AND I SWEAR I WILL CATCH UP ON BRUSHED AWAY 2, I am enjoying this Silver Spoon and Sweetie Belle lesbian fic at the moment.)
