So that's why my stream died. · 4:09am Aug 24th, 2014
A group of trolls decided to DDOS the streamer Kripparian. He was playing Hearthstone, so they crashed Battle.net. He switched to play Path of Exile, so they DDOS'd the US servers. Then he went to the Europe then Australian servers, so they crashed them too....
Ah, the internet sure is mature. Let's just take a moment to DDOS every game one person tries to play because we don't like him. Haha.

That's kinda stalking someone if you're watching whaever game he/shes playing, that's why I hate trolls
Was wondering why I couldn't get to the website. Sorry dude. Stupid internet.
And the moral of the story is the hardcore mode is stupid.
Damn, that sucks.
Equestria=100
Earth=1 (only one thing is like, good.)
What in Tartarus is wrong with some people? Rhetorical question.
DDOS'd ?
I am being dense again, but explain it to me?
2396204 a ddos atack is when someone atackes a server by slowing it down tramendously or just crashing it there are many methods of doing these things.
2396263 ah
why stalk a poor guy who just try to have some fun on a game?
if we are o make it could, follow something of true impact, and do it for the better, if we are to bother?
Maybe we could stop a few dumb ideas instead of the poor gamer?
2396204 I think it is short for Denial of Service
2396363 ah
If the Reddit is to be believed, it's not a personal attack, but just a round of DoS-ing, or whatever it's pronounced. Still, one has to wonder: why? Nothing better to do?
2396363 Distributed denial of service. You get a bunch of different people to simultaneously send a bunch of time-wasting network traffic to a site. The classic method is to have a botnet of virus-infested computers whose owners don't even know they're helping.
2396461 Sounds like an Official version.
They may or may not know all details, so they put it in a way as to make it feel safer for us as users.
2396598 oh, the Distributed version, but still the same act and effects for us.
Isn't ddosing illegal?
2395802 I didn't know you followed Kaidan!

Yeah, it's illegal. And yeah, it looks like a general ddos attack. On the site of the people claiming responsibility, they had several tweets and messages saying they'd stop ddos'ing when Kripparian wrote loser or something on his forehead. Anyway, whether it was personal or generic, several 14 year olds are going to be getting visits from the FBI because they also called in a bomb threat on Sony's CEO while he was on a flight.
Oh yeah, they're fucked.

2398369 I followed him/her not long ago
Eve was DDOS'd a couple days ago. Wonder if we'll ever come up with a defense for it, or make it easier to track and catch the origin of it.
2396095 sometimes I have to wonder how much a kickstarter for a portal to Equestria would receive, even if you make sure it's clear that it's a joke.

Quite alot I can guess.
