NEW HOME SWEET HOME! (plus loads of other crap you should read but probably won't) · 10:47pm Aug 20th, 2014
Today I officially moved into my dorm apartment at Georgia State University. The view is fantastic, the furnishings are acceptable, and my roommates seem like cool guys. So far, so good! Here's hoping that the new school year will go well, as will my stay in my brand new home!
Other stuff: I didn't take my Xbox with me, at least not yet. I'm going to wait a bit before doing that, just to get settled in. I don't have a TV for it anyway. But I am still looking for others to play with, if any of you are ever interested. My Xbox gamertag is ArmoredRhyno, and typically I play GTA Online and Dead Island, among others. You won't be alone; there are some other Fimfic users that I play with who are good friends of mine! And I would love to have someone else to play with online. So if anyone's interested, send me a request and I'll get to you (when I can, at least).
I want to get into PC gaming, not just because mods and stuff, but because of games like Age of Empires and Empire Earth. With that, I had an idea to create a "photo chronicle" of sorts. However I still have an idea of making a YouTube channel for gaming called "BrexPlays", if I ever do end up getting a PC or capture card for my Xbox. But for the photo and/or video chronicle, it'd be basically about the rise of a city (and eventually an empire) and the ongoing war with its greatest enemy. They say a picture's worth a thousand words, and I believe there is some truth in that. Unfortunately, while I own an old copy of Empire Earth and its expansion, as well as AoE 2 (I had 3 but misplaced it, and I eventually plan on downloading AoE 2 HD from Steam) I am nowhere close to getting a gaming PC of any sort. Still, one can hope, right?
Finally, some ponywriting stuff: I'm still stuck on Terminus at the moment, while I have created a 1,000 word opening scene for Hawkeye Delicious, though I'm not sure I want that to be a whole chapter or just part of the first chapter, and still haven't decided on the chapter's name. I'm also still working on the design for the story art. I have also written an opening scene for The Burning Woods, but since at the moment it has nothing to do with ponies, I can't publish it as a standalone chapter. Not that I wanted to, anyway. Meanwhile, I've not yet begun writing War Horse (or Terminus: Priority One, obviously) but I might get on that in the next few days. And lastly, I've been thinking about some ideas, three to be exact, and if you have any feedback about these (or if you just wanna steal them), go right ahead:
1. A horror story based heavily on Five Nights at Freddy's, in which a pony security guard works the night shift at a party restaurant and playhouse run by Pinkie Pie, which harbors a dark and gruesome secret involving the restaurant's animatronics.
2. Essentially Dead Island but in Equestria, on the island of Bucknoi. It wouldn't featured ponified Dead Island characters, and I know that Bulk Biceps would at least replace Sam B. But that's all I have at the moment. Dead Island is one of my favorite games and I'd love to do a crossover sort of thing with it.
3. Another horror story drawing heavy inspiration from the recently released Silent Hills playable teaser (which for a tech demo is fucking unbelievably terrifying by the way) in which the mane six get stuck in a loop of a hallway (at an as of yet undetermined location) that slowly becomes more and more demonic and haunted, and one by one they disappear until only one is left, the only one who can solve the puzzle to break the loop.
Any feedback would be appreciated. That is all. Brex out!
Will the Dead Island story feature Sinamoi's incredible changing voice? That's the best part of the game!
2388089 Wait, what? When did that happen?
2388163 Some ambient dialogue, like when you just walk by him without speaking, seems to be done by a different voice actor. He goes from New Zealander Dundee to immigrant taxi driver for a couple lines. It's weird.
2388257 Huh. I never noticed that. I mean, I've encountered plenty of weird glitches in the game, but never that. Still, though, it remains one of my favorite zombie games ever. Even if the graphics aren't that great, the dialogue can be repetitive, and it's hard as hell.
