The down side is that it does Joss my fic--sorta. It's mostly timeline so far, as it looks as though the action of this movie probably follows immediately on the action of the last one. That's cool, though, because I figure I have until September 27th to tie a bow on The Looking Glass World of Cheese and Pie, and then I'll wait to see what has to be adjusted before I start a sequel.
Oh, didn't I mention that bit? Yes. I have begun doing research for that.
And the very up up side is that it does look very awesome! I mean, really kind of badass awesome!
Also, check out the side entrance on Sugarcube's. That is TOTALLY the bakery entrance. The top floor is probably where the Cakes live, and unless I hear directly to the contrary, that's where Pinkie Pie lives, too.
I'm hoping Chapter 9 will be out soon. I'm going to the San Diego Zoo on Wednesday, if all goes well, and I am hoping to be done with it by then. We'll see. For now, enjoy!

I now, by the way, have a horrible image of my unlife Night Shadow wraith things in pink ribbons and bows. This is worse than Wind Whistler's little white bow, because Wind Whistler actually is legitimately feminine, and even has a cute cuddly side to her, even though she could also kill a roomful of people in less time than it would take to read this paragraph.

Well, Wind Whistler's a heroine -- she's one of the G1 Ponies. She was combative to begin with, and after becoming immortal, leading the Reclamation of the Earth from the Monsters, and having centuries upon centuries to hone her fighting skills ... she's basically the Pony version of Xenia, Warrior Princess. But smarter.
And she still likes to wear her cute little white tail-bow. Even after Discord finally usurps her body and she becomes a ghost living in his brain.

2381443 Evidently, they're modeled on Sirens, and MKToons just hinted via Twitter that they weren't banished by Celestia. Oh, my goodness--if they were banished by somepony else and they're all about luring people in with their voices, could they be evil mermares? Could they have been banished by King Leo of Aquastria? Could . . . . I almost do not dare hope . . . . could there be sea ponies?
If sea ponies are involved in even the most tangential way, I will have to lie down on the floor with my arms and legs in the air for a whole morning. This is how overwhelmed I will be. Shoo-be-doo!

In any case, this shows that the human dimension is low-magic rather than no-magic. It doesn't have pony magic, but it does have enough to feed psychovores. And it definitely allows for beings similar to Pinkie Pie.
Also, villains can apparently get into Canterlot High with less effort than tearing a wet paper bag.

Well, after seeing this, Aria's my favorite. Sonata's far ditzier than I thought she'd be. Adagio, just as I expected. But what did you three do to get yourselves banished from Equestria? Sunset just ran away!
