The Code Series - Emerald Flare, Code of Dissonance, and Unrealized Projects

Continuing with a longstanding desire to put old works to rest, this blogpost goes over the extremely scattered notes, ideas, basic plot threads and ideas that would have taken The Code's Apprentice stories to a 5 story... conclusion of sorts.

The Twilight Shadow - Basic Plot Outline Spoiler for Twilight War sequel.

As long promised, below was the full outline - along with a couple of half-finished scenes and a big prologue blurb - for The Twilight Shadow, the Penultimate "Twilight Struggle" story, and sequel to The Twilight War. These are mostly short blurbs, along with chapter names, and a general outline of the final set of events. I have other notes, but they're extremely rambly, and not terribly well

    Another year passed.

So if you're wondering where I've been, here's the short version.

Living outside of a home of your own kinda sucks, and my new job is incredibly time and energy demanding.

The long version takes a bit more.

I know Anthro stuff doesn't have the best reputation but....

Believe me when I say you're gonna want to give this a chance. It's not exactly a Fanfiction, per-se, so it won't be taking up my writing time on that. But it's a fun, great concept and Ambris is a super talented artist.

I know Ambris is a wonderful artist; I've followed ask TwiDash almost since its inception and always enjoyed the playful & loving tone.

However, anthro has just always turned me away from projects. Certainly the reputation doesn't help it, but that simply stems from the greater issue. It has always felt like it's disingenuous to the characters to change what they are, and anthro has always seemed like the laziest path, used because people don't want to have to change their way of thinking to encompass something unfamiliar. So they try to find a middle ground which lets them use all of the conventions that they're familiar with, but at the same time destroys some of the charm that makes ponies unique.

I'm not saying that you're doing it for this reason, you've certainly done enough to show that you have no issue with the characters as ponies, but many authors use it for this exact reason and I've had one even pull this up as a defense for it as if it's somehow not a detriment.

Even with you helming the project, I don't think you'd want me checking it out. I doubt I could truly give an unbiased opinion, so I think it's best if I just stay away from it.

My regrets,:pinkiesad2:
