I'd have made this blog a bit earlier in the week, but between getting locked out of and breaking back into my barrack's room because I forgot my key and my frantic rush to finish reading Bakuman and Aku No Hana (Perfect for all you sadistic femdom and blackmail fetishists), it sorta slipped my mind. Anyway, on to the passing convention weekend!
My Bronycon 2014 weekend started with a hard won graduation from US Army Air Assault School on Friday and continued on for a full 4 hours of no sleep into the following Saturday. In that forty hours I rented a car, traveled from New York to Baltimore, proceeded to get lost in Baltimore because Siri (the iphone navigation system) hates me, cobbled together a last minute Zecora cosplay and was promptly on my way to the convention to offend the general populace of Baltimore be they Brony or just a resident passing by. Yeah, just imagine wearing this while you walk down the street trying to act completely casual:
You can't half-ass a costume any harder than that and still get stopped for photos as frequently as I did. I mean I thought I did a bad job, but holy crap, I couldn't find a moment to look at my map to figure out what I was going to look for next without getting asked for a picture which in turns attracts other photographers and a still directionless me. It's not all awkward though, I got some free swag for the cosplay too: a free glossy print of sleeping Applejack and a tiny parasprite plushy done up in zecora colors, it was sweet.
Got to meet a bunch of fimfic personalities such as Wanderer D (Great guy, very suave looking motherfucker), JaketheArmyGuy(Whom I must never refer to by rank in person, they trained me to well), ABagofVicodin and Bad Horse (both of whom must have thought I was an idiot, I'm certain), SkeeterTheLurker
Who oddly enough had me lurking about to find him,
The RedBrony and MerlostheMad, the former of whom got me fucked up on fireball whiskey and something else with Apples in the name, I don't recall. The room went all spinny after two cups. Outstanding gentlemen, the both of them, they walked my drunk ass back to my hotel room where I recall announcing to my roommate: "I'm drunk as fuck, n***a!" before collapsing to the floor where I slept unmoving until the convention the next day. They even let me stay with them on the last night of the convention so I didn't have to make the 6 hour drive back to New York at 2 in the morning twice in a row. A thousand Rarity's onto both of them, and two Fluttershys.
Hell, even RainbowBob was there, but for some reason he was hanging out by the harbor just a block away from the convention:

Lessee, aside from that I got to meet the artists Slugbox (who was apparently bullied into coming) and Braeburned (Who I didn't know was there until I wandered into the closed vendors hall. There was one other artist there I'm a fan of who I was avoiding like the plague because... reasons. That'll be a fun little blog story in itself in the future.
Hmmm... save for watching Guardians of the Galaxy with a theater full of fellow ponybros, I guess that concludes this here blog post. Hopefully if I go next year, some more of y'all can come out and celebrate horses. Until then.

That cosplay was done OUTSTANDINGLY! It may have been done quickly, but it was definately NOT just "cobbled together". You, good Sir, did an outstanding job with that.

That was a fun random encounter we had outside of Quills and Sofas. My biggest regret about cons is that I wish there were another 12 hours in each day because I'm so damn busy all the time. The only dull moments I have are standing in line.

I have to say I'm impressed. I haven't done much or said anything to any brony as I've only been one since S4 Ep3 (and I'm 31 years old FFS), but the idea I got from it was if you had anything to do with clop you hid that shit like herpes.
Not only are you entirely open about it in public at a convention, but people are actually being cool to you! That's just...I don't know what that is!

Maybe one day I'll get to say hi to you and tell you in person that the Cake Twins fic was one of the most legendary works of writing to find its way onto this site.
