    Tonight

    Pretty gut-wrenching night.

Take care of each other, everyone. Be kind, be nice, try to counteract any hatred you see with love. When they go low, keep going high. Because it's the only way to make it through the next few years.

    This isn't goodbye

So I figured I should give everyone a big update on where I’ve been, the lack of communication, what my life is like, things like that. Maybe get a snack, there’s probably going to be a lot of text. But I'll at least put in a few pictures of ponies to break things up a bit.

    Quick notes

Just thought I'd pop in and say a few very quick things:

-The final chapter of Of The Night will be published at the same time as the Epilogue. So there's two chapters left, Chapter 9 and Epilogue, but they'll be up at the same time.

Exiting Exit Through Canterlot (and what comes next) · 11:36pm Jul 28th, 2014

Well… here we are.

The Final Chapter and Epilogue of ETC are posted… and with them, Exit Through Canterlot officially comes to a close.

On October 21, 2012, I posted the first chapter of a story that I had been thinking about for quite a while. Now it’s July 28, 2014. That’s 645 days that Exit Through Canterlot has been a part of my life. And I’d say something like “But now it’s no longer going to be a part of my life,” but that’s not true. I may be done writing ETC, but this story is always going to be part of who I am.

Exit Through Canterlot is, without question, the proudest I have ever been of any creative writing endeavor in my life (and trust me, there are many.) I will always be able to look at ETC and be proud of what I did… be able to point to it and say “Yeah, that’s my opus.”

I want to take a moment to also thank four of my friends, and guys who have been pretty much entirely responsible for making ETC what it is: Propmaster, RazgrizS57, TheWorstWriter, and WardenPony. Without these guys, ETC would suck and I would be an awful writer. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express how thankful I am for what they did for me… I friggin’ love you guys.

Now then, a big question… What Comes Next.

I’m going to be honest here… as I was finishing ETC, a part of me thought that this might be it for writing. I really didn’t know if there’d be anything left once I finished ETC… I know I had been SAYING that I had plans for other stories, but there was that niggling doubt in the back of my mind.

So for the past two weeks, I didn’t do any writing. I edited ETC, but I didn’t start any new stories, or even think about new stories.

And it sucked.

I’m not kidding when I say it feels absolutely bizarre to NOT have a story to work on. It’s awkward and it feels like there’s something I’m missing. So yeah, that doubt is gone… I have PLENTY of stories I am now looking at starting, with the first one being revising a first draft I wrote several months ago.

More stories are coming, and maybe sooner than you think. But for now, I’m gonna sit back and marvel at the journey ETC has been. Mostly good, sometimes not as good, but always pretty amazing.

Thank you all so much.

-Brian J

PS: I’m trying to figure out a way to word this without sounding cocky, but… would anyone be interested if I did a Q&A Blog about ETC, answering any questions people have about the story itself/its creation?

bet there wuld be people hwo wuold like a q/a

what kind of project would you like to go with next?

Have you thought about re-submitting to EQD? The somewhat recent policy changes reset the strikes count, might be worth giving it another go.

Edit: Scratch that idea, for some reason I thought it hadn't made it, but checking the story referrals plenty are from EQD. Must have been thinking of another story.

I'd be interested in a Q&A. And congrats on completion!

October 2012. Can't believe it's been that long. I can't remember what point I first saw the story, but it think it was already a few chapters in. It feels to me like it's been long, but not that long.

I know that feel. Not necessarily with writing, but that big "void" there after having completed a long project, with nothing to do afterwards.

Anyways, good luck with your next project.

Looks like someone is feeling the spark. :derpytongue2:

*claps*
ETC was a great story to read, shame it ends but I'm also glad you stuck with it till the end and finished it~

It's hard to imagine that it's all over now. Onto another story to read and to write, but I still have the times where I waited for the next update to come out. I haven't read the ending yet but I know I'll love it.

Thanks for the story. Can't wait to see what else you have in store.

you need to get that spark going
