Deathsia's age reference guide for the mane six and other ponies.

Over the course of writing my fanfiction I've often gotten the questions of "How old are they?" and "Is this even possible at that age?"

Well to answer these questions I'll be making an age guide now which I will link to everyone who asks these questions so that they can get a quick and precise answer.

It should be noted btw that these ages won't be exact and the reason for this is to give lee-way for time lapses in my stories.

AGE CHART:

Twilight Sparkle: 27-29

Rarity: 29-31

Applejack: 22-24

Rainbow Dash: 23-25

Pinkie Pie: 19-21

Fluttershy: 20-22

Scootaloo: 10-15*

Applebloom: 10-15*

Sweetie Belle: 10-15*

*note: These ages can vary based on story and context. This is why they have a much larger age range than the mane six do.

You got my curiosity. How did you come up with your age figures, and at what timeframe would these figures apply in relation to Nightmare Moon's return?

I'd have pegged Dash as younger than Applejack, because we know that Dash was the first in her class to get her cutie mark and Applejack was last in her class. For the ages to be as you stated, it would mean that no one in Rainbow Dash's class had their cutie mark by the time everyone in Applejack's class did, despite being older.
Of course it is possible that the school system of Ponyville would place AJ in a class of foals all older than herself, if that just happens to be all that's available at the time. Cloudsdale may be similar, although I got the impression that it was a larger town/city that would have enough foals for an age based school structure.

The ages of Rarity and Twilight go against my headcannon a little bit. I always imagined them to be about the same age, varying by three or four years from oldest to youngest at the most.

wait if my math is correct..... that would make the mane 6 2 years from being born and the CMC 5 years from being born... wow talk about young ^^
