    Hi, There

I wrote something. You may have missed that because it's for a contest entry, and I don't like to promote those before the contests is over; but I did write something.

Why I Wrote My Most Despised Story

About a week ago I published my twenty-fourth story. It has gone on to become the lowest rated story I have ever written. I sense I have some 'spainin' to do. Why did I write "...And I Will Name Him George!"?

Quizzical Greystone Meets Her Old Magic Tutor

(this takes place in the future; eight, perhaps nine, oh let's just call it several seasons into the future. Spoilers may occur. Or maybe not. If concerned, consult a calendar then relax).

The banging of the door knocker at the entrance of the Castle of Friendship rang through the castle's front hall.

"I will get it," called Quizzical Greystone.

Prequel to Quizzical · 10:57pm Jul 23rd, 2014

I've just published "I'll Take That One" which is the 'When Luna Met Quiz' story that would have been the prologue to Quizzical, if I'd written a prologue.

Some of you may not be rejoicing, because you were hoping for chapter 10 of Basements of Doom instead. Please allow me to try and set your minds at ease. First, a word about what went wrong with Basements. There were two things, really. My first problem was not knowing what was going to happen in the middle of the tale. I could see the end very clearly, and a few of the individual scenes (eg. I knew Quiz would be asked to swing on a vine over a crocodile filled stream, and that she would not be happy about it) but I couldn't see enough to actually write the middle. That is no longer the case (mostly).

My second problem was I kept being distracted by ideas that captured my imagination and that I wanted to write more than Basements (eg. Adventures In Cake Sitting). I also encountered a lot of contests with writing prompts that inspired me (eg. Friendly Spirit, Stand Ready). I found a lot to do instead of Basements.

My current plan is to alternate between chapters of Basements and projects that distract me. This way I'll get the distractions out of my system, and some of the many, many projects on my ToDo list cleared, and I'll still make progress on Basements of Doom.

Even as I write I have a notebook in my lap, with the outline for chapter 10. It's going to be a little late - I only have one day off left between now and Bronycon. But it's coming, and you won't have to wait until next August for it.

For now, please enjoy "I'll Take That One"

I can't wait to read your stories they sound so interesting:yay:

Quiiiiiiiiiiiz!

I'm pretty easy, really. Most I just want more Quiz.

I've actually found that I can't only write on one story at a time. I need at least two in the hopper or I go dry on one and just sit there. Currently I've got four, plus I'm trying to help two different authors edit. Yes, I'm over-committed. :raritycry:
