A sentient orbiting satellite wants to know more about the human condition, especially love, so it travels to Earth disguised as a human girl and meets a young pianist who was turned into a cow after his heart was broken and is currently on the run from a killer robot called the Incinerator. The two star-crossed lovers join forces with Merlin the Wizard, who has taken on the form of a talking role of toilet paper. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

The film looks like the lovechild of Astro Boy's creator Osamu Tezuka and Howl's Moving Castle's director Hayao Miyazaki.
The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow is a South Korean animated film, so it's got plenty of Seoul. I've only had a chance to see the trailers so far, but from what I've read of the reviews, it sounds like a wonderfully weird animated feature. The film includes fanciful characters and toilet humor which will appeal to younger children, while also managing to tell a love story which includes some sexual innuendo for more mature audiences. I've read that the film features a "surprising milking scene," which I can only imagine goes something like this:
Hopefully an English dub will be released soon. The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow may not be as finely polished as a Studio Ghibli film, but it's definitely unique.

Actually, this could make for an interesting Button Mash / Sweetie Belle fanfic. You could have Sweetie Bot as an orbiting satellite who comes to Equestria as a robot pony in search of love. Button Mash could be transformed into a human boy and Starswirl the Bearded could appear as a roll of toilet paper.

Knowing that this story is real makes the discussions and arguments about interspecies couples (specifically a certain pony and dragon) seem trite and pointless in comparison.
I have to see this when it comes out, even if it gets to theaters. This may be something that is worth the 8.00 to quench the curiosity.

2308580 wow... now that anime is ancient xD I never got to see the whole thing since I could never find the other parts on youtube way back when. It was so trippy and weird I didn't even give it much mind after that. Would be nice to see the full movie though.

This sounds wonderfully weird. After living through Dragon Half, Excel Saga, Serial Experiments Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Revolutionary Girl Utena and the manga Guru-Guru Pon-chan, nothing is truly out there. Now I can judge the oddity. The concept sounds nice, and touching. Interspecies love! That elevates it in my book.
