With Bronycon being a scant week and a half away, I figure now is a good time to go ahead and make the obligatory blogpost about how I'm going to be there, and how I'm going to be a panelist on the "Do's and Don't's of Fanfiction" panel as well. So yes, if you've ever wanted to hear me talk about horsewords in front of a large crowd, and you don't read the Seattle's Angels blogposts, and don't listen to our podcasts, then this is the time for you.
Along with myself and my friend Burraku_Pansa, the panel will also include Obselescence, Jake The Army Guy, Golden Vision, Pen Stroke, and Sunchaser. Now, you might be asking yourself why they got some scrub like me to be on the panel, and the answer is "Dunno." But, either way, I'm gonna be there, and I'm gonna do my best to do whatever it is that we're going to be doing. Since it's Do's and Don't's, I'll preemptively say, "Do write Trixie. Don't write changelings." But seriously though... we've talked about what we're going to discuss at the panel, and I think it's gonna be some really helpful stuff, especially to new writers. Also, we plan on leaving a large portion of the panel for questions from the audience, so if you're going to Bronycon, and you're going to the fanfic panel, by all means, please ask us any questions you may have about writing fanfics, or writing in general. Some could argue that we're at least somewhat experienced in that matter.
But anywho, if you're going to Bronycon come say hey. If you're over 21, I'll buy you a beer... unless for some reason there's like a dozen of you, in which case only like 2 people are getting a free beer. If you've ever wanted to talk to me in person (which seems like a weird aspiration to have), I'll probably be spending most of my time at the Quills and Sofas, uhh, thing, whatever it is. I've been told it's a room for writers, so I'll hang out there a lot I'm sure. Also, I'll be easily identifiable as the guy wearing a Trixie shirt. Although... given this is a pony convention, I probably won't be the only one. So, uhh, Trixie shirt and the guy whose badge says "alexmagnet" and probably has "panelist" on it or something like that.
