Well, we have the Falcon, who is the new Captain America.
Mostly because the ol' Cap was depowered and all that shebang. Won't last for a year. You know the LAST time they tried to get another character to be Captain America?
It ended about as well as you'd expect.
In other news, we have a new Thor apparently.
I got five bucks saying what spot the villains will aim for when trying to kill her.

I personally like Beta Ray Bill, although he got his own hammer if I remember correctly... actually you know something? They really missed a golden, red, white, and blue moment. Did you know that Steve Rogers is actually worthy to wield Mjolnir? Let that sink in for a second. And this isn't technically the first fem-Thor, well... sort of... Storm is also a worthy wielder of Mjolnir.
Whatever, I give this girl two, three months tops unless that's Sif or Valkerie under there. Then I'll give her four to five.

Essentially Thor 2.0. Backstory is contrived, boring, and nothing you haven't seen before. She is, in all essence, female Thor, no matter how much the writers try to say she isn't.

After Civil War, One MOAR Day, World War Hulk and the entire Ultimates Universe, the cancellation of Nextwave from Marvel and the new 52 and the reboots from DC I have given up on mainstream comics.
Must admit I've only read his origin story, but I actually rather enjoyed Beta-Ray Bill.

I've been avoiding the Captain America reboot for one reason.
Origin story.
Captain America was made during the height of WW2, aka the still extremely racist 1940's America. While a modern setting would work just fine, it still needs to go back to the 1940's since it's the same kind of reboot Thor is taking. Steve Rogers is still there, but he wasn't chosem to be the guniea pig for the Super Soldier Syrum.
To be frank, go watch Tuskeegee Airman. That was pretty accurate to what I'm expecting the new Cap comic to be like.

Both of these newbies, they're probably to make us be less angry when the actors of the current movies move on (like from age), but it will probably blow up in their face. I don't know, and I don't care; I don't read Marvel comics anyway.

I am actually kind of excited for Sam to become Cap for a bit. Its so long overdue that I just want to see a few issues and by some comic bullshit Cap gets his powers back. This actually helps me with my own comic ideas if I ever get hired for Marvel so I can make this!

My artist and I could not think of a costume for Sam because he has only been Captain America once...and no one counts that since it was like two issues and really stupid.
I kind of liked the idea of Punisher Captain America, but I did not like the art or story that went with it.
Fem Thor kinda resembles Hawk Girl from the DC comics. Or at least that's how I'm seeing it.

Or just read comics via creator owned properties from publishers like Darkhorse and Image. Example: Mike Mignola owns Hellboy and Darkhorse can't suddenly get a new editor who decides that the character should be a teenager who has to deal with high school drama by day and fight evil by night all because that's what would sell issues.
Also manga isn't a bad idea if you can keep up with it.

There was another where Thor's girl pal, i forget her name, picked up the hammer, and a third version that I think is valkarie with the hammer, though I'm hazy so it might be someone else. She was in this distinct blue and white costume I don't know how to describe right. So yea, it's not a new thing,
Oh and two facts from actual norse mythology, that one guy has red hair because in norse myth Thor has red hair. Second Loki is the mother of Odin's eight legged horse Sliepnir.
