Palestine and Israel: The Worlds of Differences That the Media "Cover" · 1:29am Jul 18th, 2014
Yes, the bearded kid with the Palestinian scarf on his head and the statistically inaccurate poster in his hands is me.
Congratulation, you all get a pic of OP.
In any case, I think it's about time I at least try to address the issue of Palestine and Israel. Given that it is ironic that a people that survived a genocide are performing it, I don't think I can keep my tongue behind my teeth any longer. It's about time it should come to an end, this dispute between the two.
The fight over this "promised land" is just arbitrary. After the prosecution of the Jews in World War II, Palestine was given to them as a place to live and recover from the devastation of the Holocaust. But in all honesty, what was promising about t? Palestine was just desert region, with ocean waters, and nothing but olives and lemons at the time. The Jewish people were essentially give a semi-decent wasteland and told "Good luck."
The media claims there is "equal" conflict between both Israel and Palestine. Actually, that's wrong. Very wrong. Israeli tanks constantly bombard and relentlessly attack the Gaza Strip, while Gaza could only fire a mere handful of rockets. Men, women, and children are affected every day. A large handful of them die, and a landfill of them are injured. Recently, the Israeli bombing of one of the Palestinian cities resulted in 81 deaths, due to the killing of 3 teenage Israeli hostages. Rather than sending some sort of intelligence team to find the murderers, Israel thought it'd be quicker and easier to just glass that entire city.
This isn't Judaism at work. The Torah is adamant about the preservation of life.
This is Zionism. This is evil.
But that's just me saying the common liberal opinion. What do YOU think?
PS: Me and my sister make some really angry posters....
I wanted to gauge how people on this site were talking about the conflict. I hadn't checked the feed for a few months, before October 7th. I found your post through searching blogs. I'm glad to learn how there were someone here talking about the disparity since over 9 years ago. You were more educated about the IDF, Gaza, and Zionism then I was.
BTW you probably want to fix that picture, it probably got invalidated just from some changes the website went through. If you ever see my comments.
