Moonlight Is A Go! · 6:50am Jul 17th, 2014
So yeah, you know that fic, Moonlight? Had a little burst of creativity and wrote out a first chapter/prologue. Now, I won't be releasing this one until I'm quite a ways in, but just wanted you all to know it's coming.
Also, to give a vague idea of what the story is without giving away (too many) details, here are some of the influences:
Oh yeah, this is going to be a good one.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it's happening.

Oooo.
See, this is why I'm not as good a writer as others. You draw from multiple influences to give you ideas. I hardly consume any media at all; I just make shit up.
My body is ready
Oh, if you want a(nother?) prereader I'm fairly experienced in that regard
All of my Hell Yes.
Regarding releasing it once you get enough written, if you are planning on submitting to EQD, try and release it here the same day it gets posted over there. I follow a few authors that do that, and it seems to be a pretty effective approach for generating enough of an initial burst of heat to have a good chance of landing in the featured box.
This sounds baller. I'm all in.
Now, I'm curious after seeing all the influences...
Oh YES. Good to see you back, I'm eagerly awaiting it! Helps a lot having Pacific Rim and Resistance as inspirations, too.

Do you know if their wait time has improved lately? My last fic to make it on there, Transistance, took six months, so I'd have to submit Moonlight now.
2295148 Er, maybe? I know they significantly changed the pre-reader process recently, but I don't know if it sped up as a result. I do know that several long deserving fics made it through and they reset (and maybe even removed) the strikes limit.
