Also, I've been asked by the mods to take down my RealityCheck blog. I know a lot of other people who made a blog about it have made apology blogs, and I'm here to say this now:
I do not regret any of the things said there, nor do I apologize for any distress RealityCheck or people who enjoy him or his writing may have suffered from that. I meant every last word I typed, and I have saved that bitching monologue parody I wrote up. If you'd like a link, send me a PM, although I don't really expect anyone to actually want it.

The problem wasn't really what you wrote in the blog, which many people would argue was justifiable. Hell, it's not even what Reality Check wrote in his. The problem is that, at a drop of a hat, a big user was able to get a massive surge of hate directed at someone because they didn't like an opinion they had.
It's fine not to like opinions, of course, it's fine to disagree, but to link it and be so aggressive towards it... well, you had to know what your followers would do. And that's really what the mods are trying to control; they're trying to stop a precedent. If someone with 1000+ followers can get that to happen every time they disagree with someone, it'd be super shitty. While this time I agree that Reality Check had some seriously intolerant views, next time a big user could object to something really small and get the same reaction. And that shit is not cool.
With great power comes great responsibility, and with great follower counts comes great ability to fuck shit up. Use it wisely (which really means never, I suppose).
