State of the Author: He does live!

So it's been a while, huh? I kept sitting down and wanting to type up a blog post on what progress I was making, but then kept either having real life intervene or writer's block set in and refuse to get off my couch. But, as those who are following the story will have been notified, I posted Dogs of Winter's latest chapter. There's the epilogue still to go before I can mark the story as

    Signal Boost: BronyCon Bookstore

So, for the bulk of the information, go read this. I'm personally 100% on board for it, but as with really all my decisions, I look at all the horsefic that I've written during my time here on FimFic and start to waffle. I honestly love all of my stories, but as Aquaman outlined in his blog post,

    BronyCon 2018 Roundup

Well, this one's a bit later than I'd intended it to be, but here's my rambling thoughts about the second-to-last BronyCon

    I regret nothing

    Horsecon Ahoy!

Yes, it's true! I will once again be at BronyCon this year, with my awesome husband Noble Cause. Looking forward to a lot of shennanigans, will maybe do the daily blog thing but am not sure yet. Bringing my tablet to try and get some horsewords done as well.

If you're there, look for the dude in the Braeburn hat/vest, or with the oversize diamond dog lanyard doodad :rainbowlaugh:

So, I'm sure at least some of you have seen other authors do these, and I figure I might as well give you all an update to explain my rather lackluster update schedule.

As I've said before, I work at Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad; specifically as a consultation agent. The role is full-time, which often means my work weeks can be... hectic, to put it nicely. Adding to it is the unpredictability of being purely client driven, so I can occasionally get out on time, other times we get slammed right as my end of shift comes around. Now, sure, I can technically leave at the end of my shift, no matter the condition of the line. But it's just not in my nature to leave people unhelped. Let alone leaving my team in the lurch, because for all I grouse and complain about them, they're like brothers to me :rainbowlaugh:

Anyway, rambling about the job aside, work on the latest chapter of Arceus and the Displaced Village is proceeding well, and should be done by the end of the weekend. The main hurdle with it is I'm really being anal about getting characterization accurate, and not letting the scenes get stagnant. With luck, this chapter will suck you right into the emotion as the broken families start to reunite

EDIT: Well, dangit. Real life decided to interfere, along with a dose of lack of sleep, and I fell short. Gonna push through, see about releasing the chapter tomorrow (today) :ajsleepy:

...you know that, after tempting us with this blog post, if nothing comes out before monday morning I'm going to SPAM your letter box with all the stupidest meme I'll be able to put my hands on, right? :trixieshiftleft:

Jokes apart, happy to heart it! I've been waiting! :pinkiehappy:

Jokes apart, I wasn't joking. Or was I? :unsuresweetie:

2276837 This Challenge Acceptance has been passed down through the Armstrong family for generations!

Hey, at least you're working. :pinkiecrazy:

Though, speaking of crazy, I'm going to do just that if I don't get this off my chest about the story before I go to bed. Arecus is the creation pokemon (OK, technically it's the "alpha pokemon," but legends say it created things), but nothing's been created in the story. Instead Ponyville has been moved through space. So wouldn't that be more Palkia's domain? :rainbowhuh:

Well, when you start reaching beyond what any of the Pokemon deities know, it gets a little muddy.

And now that statement brings up the question of whether any of the legendaries are actually deities. Oh, sure, the Sinnohans of old certainly thought they were, but modern trainers look at them as just bumps in the road. No matter how flashy their Pokedex entries are it won't stop them from being beaten out by a Gengar or Kengaskhan.

. . . Man that went a weird place.
