Another new story/remake planned · 8:52pm Jul 10th, 2014
You guys really don't read my blogs much, do you? Eh, oh well. I'm thankful for the ones that do.
Anyways, if anyone is familiar with and likes a new video game called The Forest, you are in luck. I love The Forest and I decided I wanted to write a story about it. And then I decided I would incorporate it into my long-abandoned Dragon in the Burning Woods remake. For those of you who don't recall, that story was about a plane that mysteriously crashes in Equestria.
But that was it. Nothing else. This was back when I was an even lazier writer than I already am. So now I've decided to combine the essential elements of The Forest with a rework of what little plot there was in Dragon in the Burning Woods to bring you: The Dragon in the Burning Woods.
Essentially, the story will focus on a father who survives a devastating plane crash, only to find that his daughter is missing and all the other passengers are dead. And of course, he discovers that he has somehow been transported to Equestria (though I'm not ponifying him). However, this is not the Equestria of friendship, harmony, and happiness: this is a darker, stranger, and much more horrific Equestria. Something has changed in the land of harmony, something evil, and while the sun still shines bright and the grass still grows green, the ponies of Equestria have become monsters...
Sound familiar? It will for fans of The Forest. I don't consider it really ripping off, as The Forest has so little plot (as of late) that it's nearly impossible to "rip off" it. Yes, I'm aware that the "plane crash in Equestria" storyline has been done before, but I don't care. It's just something I want to write, because I kinda like writing these survival, post-apocalyptic stories. So why not feature a plane crash survivor searching for his daughter in a world filled with mutant cannibal ponies?
Hmmm...maybe it is ripping it off a little too much. Well, if that's the case, I'll include a crossover tag.
What do you guys think? Would you read it?
ALSO: I don't want to hear anything about The Conversion Bureau. I've never read it, but when I first wrote Dragon I got some flak from TCB fans about the mechanics of plane crashes and humans in Equestria and all that stuff. For the last time, I don't care about fanon. Especially not fanfiction fanon. Sorry if I sound like a dick, but it's just how I feel about it.
I have already started production, if you want to call it that. I know I'm a very slow writer, but I'll have new stuff for you guys. I promise.
