Of course that movie sucked, the nerfed the Tyrant-lizard King! The greatest of the dinosaurs. So it doesn't seem to be a stupid as the previous ones, really it does sound like it's someone's first fic and they went with the SI route.

As for video game fics, once you get past the crap there are a lot of good fics especially for series that have a plotline

And I do know there are a few good Video Game stories out there (heck, several of my favorites are Mass Effect stories... that are usually crossovers with other media, but still), but like most fandoms you have to scrape away the crap before you can get to the gems
