So, Some News, 'Cause I Haven't Done That In a While · 3:00am Jul 3rd, 2014

Story 1: About a week ago, I had been told by the people who ran that internship I "was in" that they were in the process of getting a computer and editing software for us interns to use. The week went by... and I hadn't heard back. I decided to contact my boss, only for him not to answer his phone when I called him (and was unable to leave a message due to his voicemail being full) or to return any of my messages. I contacted my co-intern if he had heard word, only for him to tell me that there was a shoot scheduled that day, but it had been cancelled.

Cool story bro, but um... why wasn't I at least fucking informed?

Being that they seem to be actively blowing me off, I think it's time to say, "Fuck you," and move on. Shame... they seemed like nice people.

Story 2: I'm back on the pavement looking for work, and my mother suggests places that do film-to-video conversions. I actually like this suggestion, as film-to-video processes are important in my preferred field (film editing). I call up a local company, only to find that it's a family business strictly between husband and wife.

Okay, whatever...

The next place is a bit closer to where I went to school, but I gave them a call, and they actually seemed interested in helping me. I gave the person that answered my call my name and resume. It seemed pretty cool. I then get a call from a woman this morning about an internship opportunity in the company. It's also paid and it functions like a full-time job: Mon. - Fri. from 10 - 6 PM.

Very cool!

The catch?

It an hour drive on the highway. I've driven alone without assistance on the highway once in my life (which included driving in the city). Even though I kicked ass, this still frightens me a bit. However, even with gas-prices as they are, it will still be about $20 cheaper than a weekly train pass to travel. Also, if it's paid, I might be able to fund that gas and actually have some fun this summer.

My interview is tomorrow. Very, very, nervous, but very excited

Story 3 (aka The Fun One):

Two Weeks Ago...

Oh yeah. I remember hearing about this. Sounded interesting, and such a solid cast, but that rating looks phenomenal. Have I even seen a trailer for this movie yet?

Holy shit. This does look good. No showtimes anywhere in Illinois? Figures....

Today...

Dammit, Chris! Why must you see movies that I can't see? You know... maybe perhaps...

Is this a fucking joke? Hold on...

Oh my...

Already planning my Saturday. I have two more rides on my Metra pass, and enough cash in my wallet to buy a temporary L Train pass and a movie ticket! I'm taking the train to the city to take the train to the theater see a movie about a train! I'm so meta!

Yeah if a business cannot get their act together then chances are there's only going to be more issues further along the line, also in all honesty they should've already had gear available if they were going to hire interns....since its common sens (a rare phenomenon apparently)

Highways are pretty straightforward for travel..granted i do not know just how busy the ones out YOUR way would get at times but from my own experience, its pretty simple, just keep a constant speed, make sure you pay attention to what everyone else is doing (it only takes one idiot to ruin your day out there) and know when your supposed to get off and move accordingly.

I have seen a preview for that when I went to Transformers..it looked quite intriguing, I hope to see it for myself at some point in the near future.
