Another oneshot + ADB news · 8:17pm Jun 13th, 2014
Yeah, so I'm working on another brief oneshot story. If anybody wants to take a swing at proofreading it, let me know.
But more importantly, I have some news concerning A Delicate Balance.
The first thing is that yes, I am working on the next chapter, and it should be done and ready for editing in a day or two.
The second thing concerns my ongoing plans for the story. I don't usually like giving release dates for stuff I'm working on because Real Life has a tendency of getting in the way, but at the same time, some vague sort of deadline will help me stay properly motivated to get the stuff written in a timely fashion. So here's the main piece of news:
My current plan is to have the story completed by the end of October.
There are two main reasons for this. The first is that as I said before, a deadline helps me stay motivated, and as I'm nearly to a good ending point for the story it's a good time to give myself a due date.
The second reason is that National Novel Writing Month is in November. I've wanted to take a swing at it for years, but due to having ongoing projects, I didn't want to make people wait two months for updates or risk losing the motivation to continue my current stories by shelving them for a month (because there's no way I'm written 50,000 in 30 days without putting everything else on hold). But this year, the timing is going to work out pretty well; if I continue at the rate of one chapter per month, I'll have the story finishing up roughly where I intend it to be. So no worries that I'll rush the chapter. At this point I'm only planning to have three more after the one I'm working on now. It'll give me a month break from long ponyfic before I start anything new.
Obviously, I'm not going to stop writing ponyfic in general any time soon (or at least I don't intend to), but this particular project is coming to a close. Hopefully I'll be able to conclude it in a satisfying fashion. Thanks for sticking around this far.

2204291 It's very rare that I write sad/tragedy fic for works that aren't already like that. So far, only one ponyfic I've written is like that, and even that's more bittersweet than actually sad. This one is mostly comedic. I'll PM you the link.
As for NaNoWriMo I do have a few ideas, but nothing set in stone yet. I still have a few months to come up with something.
