Hey all.
So I want to apologize. Things haven't been going so swimmingly in Dustyworld and as a result, I haven't managed to get out much in the way of writing.
And by much, I mean "anything at all"
I've dabbled with writing a few wordses here and there, but I haven't been able to get beyond a few paragraphs at a time. Sadly, it seems to be one of those dry spells in general for me.
There are a multitude of reasons for this. Some of them good, some of them bad.
Starting with the good news first, I finally have a job! ...sorta.
it's not so much a job as it is volunteer work. I haven't got an actual paying job. However, the volunteer work is fun and engaging and while it doesn't bag me any money, it does bag me experience which will look very nice on a resume. As of a few weeks ago, I am an assistant English-as-Second-Language teacher. Basically I'm teaching grown men and women basic English. It's actually pretty fun, but very difficult and very time consuming. I'm there several times a week for several hours and when I get done I'm always exhausted, so that tends to put a little bit of a kibosh on my writing mood.
On the side of the bad news, however there are a couple things that are also keeping me from writing.
For one thing, I've been dealing with an on-again-off-again bedbug infestation. It seems no matter what I do they keep coming back, and it makes me feel uncomfortable and violated sleeping in my own bed. I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in several weeks and while washing the sheets makes them go away for a day or three, they always come back. I've got an exterminator coming in later today who should hopefully take care of the problem once and for all, but they're tenacious little assholes.
The lack of sleep, combined with the fact that I usually feel most comfortable writing on my bed has also made it so that I am not exactly in a writing mood lately.
Combine all of this with the fact that ever since I moved away from Los Angeles and away from my best friend, I have sorta lost my muse and, well... you see where I'm going with this.
That said, I'm hopefully going to get back in the writing mood with this contest. I feel slightly compelled to write out something involving a number of Alicorn OC's that hopefully don't suck too bad. It's something that's been banging around in my brains for... well over a year, I'd say. We'll see how that turns out and if it gets me back into the "mood" as it were.
Look for upcoming stuff from me. I'm not quite dead.
I feel your pain. I had to deal with bed bugs as well, and now just thinking about them makes me itch everywhere. It also sucks, since I panic from every mosquito bite I receive.
Unfortunately, the extermination process is a very stressful process, and not always 100% effective. I wish you the best of luck.
I guess the old saying of "Sleep tight; don't let the bedbugs bite" means nothing here, huh?
Well, best wishes to you and your endeavors, and I hope to see more Dustyworld products soon enough. I'm also entering that contest, so even after we both lose to someone greater than us I hope your muse gets that shot of adrenaline it needs.
Also: Palutena, Pac-Man, G&W, and Reggie Fils-Aime for Smash Bros!
Best of luck with the bloodsuckers. I hope their eradication will help put you more in the mood for horsewords. In any case, don't feel like you owe us anything. Fanfiction should be fun, not some onerous duty.
Hey wanting to know how the bedbug situation is now. If it isn't I hope it gets better soon

the bedbugs were cleared up a while ago. I'm dealing with other stuff now, both fortunately and yet unfortunately.
...I probably SHOULD make a blog about what's been going on.
Hey dusty I'm starting to write a fanfiction. If your not working on anything right now I'd be honored if you reviewed my prologue.

I can give it a look but I might not be able to get back to you for a day or two
