Well, I don't normally have to do this, but due to an editing delay, I'm going to have to bump back my release day this week to probably Saturday or Sunday instead. It's not back from the editor and proofreader yet, so I don't want to release the chapter without quality control! Much sincere apologies to all my readers.
Good news! I got my computer back. Bad news! I'm fairly certain somepony hit the case with a sledgehammer a few times. The door won't close properly anymore, and the handle is split apart. I'm starting to legitimately believe there might be a curse, disregarding any and all scientific theory. At least it still runs, though. For the most part. I uploaded a picture of its good side to my DropBox.

I'm assuming that's a Core i7 4960K or so, it being a hexacore (6 core) system and all that. That combined with the other specs basically say "Yeah, you won't be replacing this system for 5-10 years, easily."
The way the ponies are arranged, PLUS the fact you actually have a custom Mender figurine up there makes that one of the coolest rights I've ever seen.
Also, now I gotta go get caught back up. I'm... aheh, a few chapters behind.
I just love this whole little world you've built with mender. What started out as a semi-typical stallion gets dropped in Ponyville with amnesia has turned into something pretty sweet.
I just noticed the engraving. I'm officially jealous now. That is BAD ASS!

very nice setup. what a shame about the case tho. I sure hope ya got a SSD cause they really do make a hell of a difference. standard HDDs are a huge bottleneck. once you get one, ull never want to go back
im assuming the CPU is a 4930K as its the only 6core at 3.4ghz. same one as mine.
that soundcard is abit pricy if your using headphones most of the time or just stereo speakers. I use my Turtle Beach headphones 95% of the time and im really wanting a soundcard just so I can get rid of the constant noise from onboard audio
any idea what speed the RAM is running? probably 2133 based on the mobo.
if ya ever want to upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate, id let ya use it. no its not pirated

I'd rather have a real harddrive, assuming that the computer is going to be stationary. I don't think it's the best idea to trust stuff to flash memory. Sure, it might be a bottleneck, but there is varying quality in hard drives. Having the latest sata drives with 10k rpm (if that's available) is probably a lot better than slower speeds and older standard. You definitely need USB3 for external storage though.
I suspect bottlenecks are a lot more complicated these days than just the harddrive. If you have enough memory available then the ability of the operating system to intelligently cache (in a way that actually helps) stuff might have more of an effect than your harddrive.
2182962 running on only SSD isn't good. plus they don't store nearly enough storage to be worth it. SSD is best for putting the OS and programs you use the most on. defiantly use a HDD for all other storage. And defiantly backup the SSD frequently. I myself had my month old SSD become complexly undetectable out of the blue. Luckily I backup regularly and after warrantying it I didn't loose anything. I have a 128gb SATA III SSD for my OS and BF4, then 2 x 1TB HDDs in RAID 1. for the 2 weeks I didn't have my SSD I felt like my computer was slower than a snail.

When it comes to "slowness" perception is everything. Yes, there may be a noticeable difference, but there is a level at which things which were "fast" before seem slow when they are only a little slower than something else.

SSD will always be faster than HDD, even 10k rpm can never compete. just look up real world comparisons. my OS, BF4, and any programs on it loads in a 1/3 the time or even less. even Windows Experience benchmarked my HDDs at 5.9 which is average but my SSD is at max of 7.9. I do have a really fast SSD vs the more budget ones which arn't quite as fast and it is SATA III so it has a less bottleneck of the SATA II ones most people have. and my computer has pretty much the fastest non-extreme Intel i7 CPUs (same as Kiros)) and is running 4 x 4GB DDR3 2400 RAM leaving the HDD as by far the bottleneck
this is my SSD. i got a reman for $75. but it is known to have failures as i had already so i cant really recommend it

Yeah right! No, it's a hard disk, not a solid state. I heard bad things so far about them, given their dependency and how quickly you have to replace them. I'm content enough with my external storage and USB 3.0. And yes, 2133 RAM. I don't particularly care about loading times, and once the information is loaded up, RAM takes over for the most part.
I don't like going up against other ponies, so I avoid games like the BF series.
A 2TB SSD?

2187751 I meant a smaller SSD like 128-500GB. ya a 2TB SSD if they made them would be extremely expensive. I use to think SSD were really overrated till I finally broke down and tried one. thinking about getting one for all my computers now.
you might want to consider disabling Page Filing in windows. having 32GB of RAM means your pretty much never going to use it but Windows automatically sets it based on how much memory you have and usually like 1.5x the amount of RAM. that means windows is using +32gGB on the harddrive that will never get used since Page Filing is only used when you use up all the RAM

My first laptop (that was new when I got it) back in 2010 only had 6GB of ram and that was pretty good then, the current one has 8. I'm convinced Windows doesn't use memory effectively, though. I mean, somehow my machine is using 4+ GB of ram atm just for several browser windows, a text editor, mspaint, and ms excel (like the 2002 version). Only 2.5GB of that is me... where the heck is the rest going? Two of that 2.5GB is Firefox. No browser should ever use 2GB of ram, but Firefox does... Either it needs to be better about saving memory on tabs or it needs to warn you at certain thresholds.
