1. Title: In the Hall of Mirrors/The -something- Conference

Idea summary: This is basically a 'negotiating/peace summit' story, taking place near the end of or towards the end of the Equestrian-Changeling war. If at the end of the war, the delegates of the victors (the Princesses predominantly) meet up at a conference in Canterlot to negotiate post-war peace and sign a treaty that would determine the terms of said peace, particularly in regards to the defeated Changeling Kingdom. It's based heavily on the Paris Conference at the end of WWI, with Equestria and the Griffin Kingdom as the Allies and the Changeling Kingdom as Germany. The leaders/delegates mirror the WWI delegates in their disputes as to what they want to get out of the peace and how hard to be on the defeated Changelings, who are not invited to conference and will be forced to accept the terms of the decided treaty (Treaty of Versailles).

The alternative idea would include towards the end of the war, where a trio of Changeling delegates, one including the Prime Minister on Chrysalis' behave, are sent to meet Princess Celestia and co. to negotiate peace and end the war they (the changelings) are by now badly losing. The delegates are hoping to get a good deal, but find the reality to be quite crushing when they meet with the Princesses. It's based heavily off the American Civil War, specifically the failed Hampton Roads Conference and the scenes in the movie Lincoln, where the delegates of the Confederacy meet Ulysses Grant and President Lincoln.
